this is really sad. I know he has had a bit of a fall from grace in recent times with his abuse of drugs and alcohol but this man brought alot to music, and so for that reason I'll miss him.

I definately raise my glass to him in appreciation. He did more for music than many people can even dream of. Such an inspiration. He will be missed dearly but he's much better off than we are. :)

can't even measure the influence that he and all those great bass players that played with him had on us.
I first saw James art the Shrine Auditorium in L.A. the summer of '67----what can i say--

This sucks. I was listening to James Brown's Funky Christmas last night right around the time he died.

He'll be missed.

The man was one of the best showmen in pop culture you could ever ask for, and was chock-full of heart and badass attitude!

I was lucky enough to see James several times, the last time on the Living in America tour. He had is demons, but what a great entertainer! RIP
