I apologize if this has been asked before and I did a search and couldn't find the answer to my exact question. But I see that there still seem to be quite a few roasted maple black sugar JPs out there for purchase (brand new). If I remember, originally these were a limited run correct? Or, is EBMM still making these guitars? And if they are still making them, did these switch over to the SS frets in January of 2012 like the rest of the JP models and get the new trem plate?

I'm particularly interested in adding a RM/BS JPX as they just look soooooooo good and was just curious if the new ones I'm seeing on musiciansfriend, GC, and some retailers on eBay are leftovers from the limited run or are in fact new. In the end, the SS frets and new tremplate are not a requirement but really was just wondering if they're out there. Thanks guys!

The Black Sugar / Roasted Maple package was only offered for a short time back in 2010 and delivery was just into 2011. This was before the SS frets and updated bridge.

Keep in mind that the ones out there for sale may still be new, but built in early 2011.

My local guitar center has one. They have it priced the same as the rest... for shame! :)
