Hey Cassius987,

I hope I can answer some questions about the ad without getting too wordy. I'm one of the engineers who conducted the analysis for this wood. Regarding “dimensional stability”, these necks are less susceptible to changes in size/length which are affected by variations in temperature and humidity. Regarding “less damping”, this treatment provides a lower damping coefficient.

As stated in a previous post on the guitar side of the forum, the mention of no need for "chemical treatments" is in comparison to other popular wood treatments which make woods more resistant to warping. For instance, there are a variety of chemical treatments used on deck woods or fence posts to make them more resistant to the moisture changes. In this case, the thermal treatment of the wood creates a neck material which is more resistant to environmental changes without needing to use harsh chemicals.

Lastly, “vibrational testing” isolated the performance of the WOOD rather than including the effect of the electronics, hardware, etc.

Ok I have had some time to chew on this and I am probably going to get 3 of these.

1. An SR5 H for sure! I really hope to get the new tuners and a Gamechanger as well...

2. A Stingray 4 H with a SLO neck and a 2 band EQ. New tuners and Gamechanger on this one to.

3. A Big Al 4 H....if BP says it is the best Single H how could I go wrong? Needless to say new tuners and Gamechanger as well!

Also thinking about a Big Al 4 SSS and a 4 HH Reflex..lol! Not sure I could pull that off though.

Peace,

T

you know I think you should get the sss big al as it is a different animal and a really friendly one to boot

I LOVED the SSS I ordered from GC but the weight just killed me. It was well over 10 lbs. It seems the H are lighter in general. I think I would actually love to have an H AND an SSS I think if I knew I could keep the weights down to around 9 lbs. I have a serious degenerative bone disease in my back and have had 2 hip replacements. I play about 175 shows a year and do another 100 plus recording sessions...typically do 3 1 hour sets a night and those extra few ounces really add up about the 3 rd or 4 th night out. I do a lot of travelling and just moving a Double Bag or 2 is a chore sometimes.

Make you a deal...I will order the ones you suggest! I definitely want an SR 5 H...UNLESS you think i can get that tone from say a Big Al 5 H or a single H Reflex? I Love the neck ob my SR 5 though...You recommend the other 2. I have to get that Paul Spencer Denman tone out of at least one of them. Other than that I am golden with whatever you think. Hey you make them everyday who knows these things better than you? I already have a 25th 4 HH that I love and will likely keep unless I am blown away by these and don't play it. I figure I can get everything I need on stage or in the studio with whatever I wind up with...I play a wide variety of stuff and love having some flexibility in my tone but I am the kind of guy that would rather have 1 Great tone than 100 mediocre ones. That is why I love my Stingrays I can't make them sound bad! Thanks for your thoughts! It really means a lot that you care...

Peace,

T
