I'll add Gary Puckett and band to the list. My old singer was playing bass for them back in '97 when they came through town, and I was invited to hang out backstage.
I even got to hop on stage to soundcheck the bass rig.
Gary and the rest of the band were very easy-going, especially his drummer. A very pleasant meeting.

I couldn't agree more, Tommy. I have a couple of friends that are pro or semi-pro, and I've seen with my own eyes what performing musicians have to deal with. As i'm sure you know, it is a stressful occupation that stirs all kinds of emotions in the fans and the artists themselves. Most performers give their all at a gig, and afterwards they are usually exhausted and emotionally drained, and just want to relax and wind down. After the last Dregs show, Steve looked like he was about to collapse...but he still made time for every fan that hung around after...including me.

I saw an interview with a rock star ( I can't for the life of me remember his name right now), but he was saying how it is sometimes tough to be nice to fans, like when they are on tour, in hotel rooms, and he was saying how while trying to sleep there is all this screaming, and pounding on the door, and it's a pain to get up and let them out.

I met Luke about 2 years ago, when me and a mate flew to Jakarta, Indo to see Toto in concert, we happened to stay at the same hotel as the band, Luke was really nice, just what you expect him to be, l guess all you can say is, Luke is Luke, l think he was confused to hear we travel from Melbourne, Australia to Jakarta, indo just to see Toto, l also met David Paich on the same day, very nice guy, humble, both were very willing to have a chat, Luke actually saw us later and came over and had another chat. It was a very cool day.

and I'm glad to see a fellow poster who likes gaiman. when I lived in america I fixed vintage fountain pens and got into a fairly long conversation with him at a signing in Charlotte over the Lamy 2000 that I gave him to sign my copy of American Gods with. he's extremly nice, isn't he?and for as much as I like Wolves in the Walls, Dave McKean's art in that book vastly overshadowed Gaiman's story. speaking of which: if you haven't seen Mirrirmask yet, you'll never forgive yourself if you dont. written by gaiman, shot and directed by mckean... it's just fantastic. and as I understand it, mckean is allegedly something of a guitar fan. he has a short film who's name I can't remember that's about god and the devil and the big bang being caused by god accidentally leaving the gas on in his house... and it's all set to the music of django reinhardt. very cool. amusingly, speaking of personalities, I recently bought my wife a piece of mckean's artwork and his offive - while I didn't get to speak directly to him- was SO astounding helpful in authenticating it... nice folks.
