My rosewood board Axis is much warmer and fatter than any of the maple board ones. That said, the maple ones are much acoustically brighter.

Looking at it right now. Sometimes I think I see a cap, then it just looks like grain. Mine's got a painted headstock, can't see the seam up by the nut. I flat can't see it.
