I honestly think you couldn't have gone wrong either way...however the rare nature of those RW neck pieces really make this one something special.

I am seriously jealous.....congrats!

This is too funny. My quilted Bahama Blue BFR JP7 that I ordered in April will be at GC tomorrow, but I won't be able to pick it up since I need to be home for when UPS delivers this guitar. Man my life is really complicated:D

UPS will only deliver until around 5:00, maybe a little after. Wait for this one to get there, then go get your BFR!

Ah see here's the problem. UPS comes to my house pretty much every day, they are usually here around 4:45 and that works out fine. But our second car is in the shop and by the time my wife gets home with the car, I cook dinner and everything else it may be too late. If UPS gets here earlier than usual I'm going to take the bus to GC and have her pick me up on her way home.

UPS drivers don't usually change their schedule or route. GC is open until 9:00 around here. I suspect it's the same in MA. That's not enough time?

Trying to get you a two-fer new guitar day, man

Oh it's plenty of time, you just forgot to factor in "7 months pregnant wife syndrome" which means I am never sure what is going to happen.

In the end it was the fact that BP said the Dargies will be around for a while, while the rosewood was so limited that sealed the deal. I really do like the color shift on the Dargies, but I have maple necks with ebony boards. The rosewood neck is something I've never had and everyone is raving about them.

Initially when I saw the pics I thought "eh, nothing special", but for some reason I kept coming back to it, and within an hour I was in love. Worst case scenario I sell one of my guitars and buy the Dargie, but I had many moments when I lamented not being aware there was a limited ordering window for the rosewood necks. I feel like I would not have got another shot a new lefty JP rosewood.

Ah, didn't really read that info for the Dargie II! Nice choice, then! Orange FTW!

I think kissmyaxe stated he has one with JP shields earlier in the thread. Does it count as a one off it's the only one with dots?:D

Yes they are different, if no others were ordered with your specific combo than it is a one of a kind... I am really curious now if we both have one of a kinds, I thought I had the only BFR rosewood lefty in Firemist but I will gladly share that title with you...its a great color...Beth, Dargie...someone should look that up for me and Proto, pleeease:D

Thanks for all the kind words guys, today should be quite a fun day. I know BP said the Dargies would not have the painted necks but that newest picture in the Dargie thread shows a painted neck, unless that was Petrucci's.

If they come out as BFR's I may just never take the tags off my Walnut 6 string when that's completed and try to sell or trade it for a Dargie. I did try to convince them to give me the Dargie paint job on it two weeks ago since it hadn't been painted yet, but to no avail. (Maybe I gave up too easily, but I felt like I was becoming a pest)

Great stuff Proto !
It's a very cool combo you've got there.

Thanks Dizzy, I know how painful it must be for you compliment a lefty instrument. I hope it didn't burn your retinas too badly.

It's here! No time to even open the box, off to GC to pick up the 7 string. Obviously there will be p ics at some point tonight.

My 7 string didn't appear in the BFR picture thread so I have no idea what it looks like. is that because it wasn't actually available to anyone since I ordered it?
