Yup, I have graded your registration form and it is complete and accurate....A+ unless the check bounces.

Thanks for the lead, but with what he's asking for the bass safe, by the time I paid shipping I could get a brand new one.

If that check bounces, practice your duck and cover drill. Armageddon is here.

You gotta watch those SKB roller cases...not much room in them and you can't use a very thickly padded gig and the latches totally suck eggs on then.

You could always ship it to me a week in advance and I'll ship it back to you afterward if you like (now don't everbody get this in their heads...Larry's special).

The other thing I've done is to pack the bass in a shipping box like I was going to ship it via UPS and check it in as oversized luggage.

The SKB rollers are "ok" but I'm not 100% positive a Bongo 5 string (which I am assuming you're bringing...correct me if I'm wrong) will fit in one. Anyone know?

The latches on them are pretty cheezy and if you get one do not put TSA locks on them as they'll flip around outside the latch recess and get bent in transit. I recommend just using small clasps or eyehooks or something on them so whatever you use to secure the latches don't protrude out beyond the recess.

Or order up an ATA flight case for a Bongo 5, drop the cash, use it for SOB then eBay it afterwards...someone will want one I'm sure.

Last but not lease flip Jack a deposit in on one of the 5 new EBMM basses we ordered to have at the display table, use it for the school and then I'll ship it to you afterward...I tend to like that idea best myself. :D

The choices are:

116 73 21 03 SR 4 HS Tobaccoburst, Rosewood, MHS, Shell Guard

174 76 10 05 Sterling HH Pacific Blueburst, Maple, White Pearloid Guard

141 44 33 11 Bongo 4 H-Piezo, Lined Fretless Medallion Gold, Python Guard

114 74 21 03 SR4 HH Cherryburst, Rosewood, MHS, Shell Guard

154 07 20 12 SR5 HH Graphite Pearl, Rosewood, Moonstone Guard

Other than that I'll have some 30th Stingrays on hand plus whatever 2006 Limited Editions are not spoken for at that time (see list link below).

Thanks for the offer Steve. I'll make a decision as to what I'm going to do as the time gets closer. Can't imagine that I need another bass and the only 5er that you mentioned is GP, which I already have. Of course like all of the gear whores here, you never know.

Tom I show your 140 04 43 11 as well as Chuck's 260 01 22 06 both well within production time before the School of Bass in October, in fact, Chuck's is looking to come in sometime next month for some freaky reason....must be a lefty thing. Yours is looking to come in about a month before SOB so if you and NorMie want to eat some meat before the School come on up!

The LE is a pretty bass, but I am just not into gold hardware myself.

Ok, just offering suggestions...here's another one....you could always come to SOB with one of these and fly it out no problem.

I haven't flown with a bass since before 9/11. Does anyone know if it's still possible to get on with a gig bag and hang it in the coat closet?

Depends on the airline and the mood of the gate agent. Just kno wthat if you show up at the gate with a bass in a gig they may force you to "gate check" it as luggage and have them toss it down below in luggage in just the gig.
