As it stands now Thursday will feature Mel Brown, Friday will feature Tom Bogert and Saturday will feature Billy Sheehan but every day will be a blast so any day is a winner as Chuck, Jack and I will be there the entire time!

<---Jots on a sticky note to ask Miller to send some left handed brewskies.

Rumor is that I'll be there, representing EBMM and the gang.

I can't imagine Sterling would let this happen without some official SLO human attending, and I myself have intimated what a bad idea it is to have me represent EBMM...but you never know.

This could be fun, really.

Jack

Hey everyone! Just signed up so I could post my welcome to SOBII message. Glad to see so much interest in the event, it's looking better than ever. You know we've got Billy Sheehan and Tim Bogert onboard as well as Mel Brown. We'll also have Lynne Davis and Ray Riendeau back for teachers, (me too). Dude has totally kicked ass lining up sponsors and getting everything all set, he rawks!

So, I hope you'll all come down to SOBII, it's going to be fun, and very educational!

Hi Ed,

It's good to see you here as well! You should definitely stick around.;)

Ed's pretty busy right now and in a double escrow situation selling his home in Tuscon and buying a home in Austin, packing, moving etc...plus running things at Bass Guitar Magazine, gigging, teaching, writing and such but I talked to him today and guess what he's got in his possession right now for his next product review???

Two double pickup EBMM's sent from Derek Brooks....I told him to ship em to me for inventory when he's done with them if Dargin and Derek are ok with it.

Oh yeah, then we can do that "As seen in Bass Guitar Magazine" or "once played by Ed Friedland" thing.

Up to Derekor Brian , but I believe that my bro wants them to put in Artists hands......

That's cool Dargin...not like I don't have enough EBMM's on order or anything but speaking of which, did we ever come up with 4-5 basses to order to have at the EBMM merch booth at SOB Jack? We need to get those orders in soon laddy!

Right off the top I'd say some more single Hum Bongos since the last 5 sold out fast as well as another Small Equestrian Tribby model.

I wonder if I'm too craptastic to attend. Hrm.... I always afraid I won't get anything out of these things as I am !good. Granted, I'm not horrible, but when it comes to bass I seem to be a slow learner.

We had a wide range of ability levels at the first SOB and unlike some other events held in the bass community, our core philosophy revolves around education that you can leave the event with and continue on with after you get back home.

It'll be educational, informative as well as fun...can't forget the fun part!!

Michael Menduno who came up with the idea is a guy who only picked the bass up a few years ago after a long hiatus but picked it up with a vengence and thirst for knowledge. The guy is a sponge and has attended almost every bass education event there is out there as well as taking classes online from various online schools like MusicDojo and Berklee online and he took all of those different experiences and has put them together into a program that combines the best parts of them and leaves the rest. He's the most rabid "bass student" I know himself.

Cool. I've done numerous musicdojo classes, and some local clinics. I also take weekly lessons, but I still struggle. Perhaps you all will finally get something in my thick skull. Funny, how I make something simple difficult, but I can finish my masters degree w/ a 4.0 LOL. And no, it's not in basket weaving.

I'm really considering going to this. I just found out that our lead singer will be in Africa that week so there will be no gig. I just need to build up 820 miles with my credit card so my AA ticket will be $5.00.

You could probably do that by buying either of the two new EBMM's I have on the way and yet unspoken for. :)

Bongo 5H Stealth (160 66 62 P2)

or

SR4 2EQ T-Gold, Maple, Matching HS (130 53 11 01)

It makes me feel all warm inside when I see you tossing around those build codes, Steebo.

You care! You really care!

I feel a little like Sally Field here.

Yeah, listen, if any of you guys are interested in either of those basses, email me and I'll throw in a photo of, um, Sally Field.

Only way I'm gonna learn the damned things is to start using them I figure. I'm not gonna lie and say I know them because I don't, I have to look them up one by one but I'll get the swing of things.

So far all I know is "130" is a Ray...that much I do know so that's a start I figure.

<---wonders to self if Dargin mumbles build codes in his sleep.

Yeah, that Dargin knows 'em cold. I used to send him text files and build codes and he knew immediately if I'd screwed up. (I rarely do so anymore, but at first....)

But remember that 130 is for a SR4 two band.

110 is a regular three band SR4.

Time for a refill. You?

So you want to be an event producer??

Ok, this in late this afternoon and I need to come out and let it be known that due to a conflict with his touring schedule that Billy Sheehan will not be able to headline SOB in October. I am very sad about this turn of events but also undersand what it takes to make a living in this business and appreciate Billy's decision in this matter. He sends along his regrets as do I.

I am currently in negotiating stages with a few others to fill this slot and will let you all know when I have someone firm.

Bear with me here a minute ok...this was unexpected...thanks!!
