I hope CS has some info you can share with me about my new friend. Is that a Black Pearloid pickguard on there or something else?

Rossie, here is the vital information for your friend's guitars:

G10925 - Axis Sport (not SuperSport), white/maple tremolo, maple pickguard, 07/05/00 shipped to Japan.

G15044 - Axis- Translucent Gold, 5/17/01, shipped to a Sam Ash store.

Nice!

Dan

Thanks Dan!

Axel, I am a bit perplexed by this one  the serial number #88818 refers to an Axis in trans purple built on July 2nd 1996 and originally shipped to Steve's Music in Montreal, Canada. It's hard to know what happened here .... sorry not to be of more help, but it would appear your guitar's serial number has been swapped ... The reason I suggest that is because the Lavender Pearl finish was only available after we went to the new numbering system and would have had the the serial number starting with the letter "G".

Also, the life of the Lavender Pearl was fairly short and there weren't that many made. We didn't start making the color until late 1999, and it lasted until 2002.

Dan

Thank you so much Dan !
I already doubted that this thing was OK all the way... The first thread on the ebay auction for this guitar was called "Why do people do this..."
Apparently there is a certain someone in the Toronto/Canada area that rips EBMMs apart and sells the pieces separately or as "bastard" kits from various guitars.
So the neckplate is from a 1996 Axis, the neck is from a Silhouette Special of about the same time (features Grover locking tuners...) and the body is a Silo Special SSS from arount the new millenium...
Oh boy, I hope this will nevertheless turn out to become a nice guitar after all the fuss during the last weeks...

Thanks again so much, Dan !

Rob, this is not a trans orange (that color was not introduced until 1999) but instead a very rich Trans Gold finish. Your guitar was completed on 11/07/97 and shipped to Germany.

Cheers,

Dan

Hi Dan,
Thanks very much for the info!

Thanks Dan!!!

It is a superb instrument (and a beautiful one). Everything's true except piezo - it is non piezo model.

Thanks for the DOB, now i will know when to light the candles :D

robardo, your Silhouette Special in Las Vegas Gold with a maple neck, matching headstock and a black pearloid pickguard was completed on 5/30/01. Not too many of these made in this color. Nice!

Axel, I did a little more research (just call me a snoop dog) and this is what I found:

We made only one guitar ever with the exact specifications you listed -

Silhouette Special SSS/tremolo in Pearl Lavender, maple neck, plain headstock, white pg

And it was shipped to a dealer in - you guessed it - Canada. The correct serial number for your guitar, I am certain, is G13205. The production date is December 27, 2000.

Some sorry bum has an EVH with a Silhouette Special's serial number.

Hope that helps!

Just got it yesterday...it was Christmas in June!

EBMM JP6 Pearl Redburst - Fully Loaded
Serial # - G35542
and if I'm reading the right place, the D.O.B. is 05/24/07

Pretty good turnaround on the order too. I ordered it from Pete on 02/06/07 and it was delivered to me at my place of business on 06/12/07!
