I've narrowed down my purchase options to this guitar (maybe a Luke?!)
However, I've never been able to hear a Silhouette.
There was one at the local shop a few months ago, but when I went back to play it; it was gone! :(
If you could post some sound clips or links to some I would greatly appreciate it!! :D
Also, if you could tell me if it's an S-S-H, H-S-S... and what kind of amp you are using.
I know it may be a tall order, but I need help!

thanx in advance! ;)

Fogman, where do you live, maybe someone on the board lives near you and has a Silhouette. You might be able to hook up wiht them and hear one for yourself.

I find that most don't fillin where they live, why???

Hope this helps, Glenn |B)

Beej is in Toronto. 3.5 - 4 hours!

Anyone closer that I don't know of???

I like the silo better than the luke because the neck has a tad more beef, plus you can change up the electronics no problem and the pickguard is a nice touch I feel, I will post a clip tommorow of me and my silo special but its a hard rock band so you may not be into that, they arent stratty tones as all if thats what your looking for, but the guitar does nail a strat tone with the neck single coil on, I just use the humbucker more, its such a versatile guitar you can take it to a metal gig and a country gig in the same afternoon, it really is the greatest intsrument I have ever owned, I would say just buy it, mine also has a rosewood board, but when I get to work I will post the clips for you - russ

Thanks Russ!

I look forward to it. :)
I like all music types so bring it on. It's one of the reasons I've been researching this guitar. I know it's very versatile.

I love my Silos but for the rest of this month I have to play my pet.
Sometimes it doesn't suck to be me

If you feel that your Pet is such a burden, and you 'have' to play it, I could always take it off you hands. I'll consider it my good deed for the day/month/year. ;)

Dodge,

Keep in mind there's two two Silo models...

1) Silhouette SPecial - 22 fret HSS or SSS jobs
2) Silhouette - 24 fret HSH (Dimarzio Virtual PAFs in teh neck and bridge...a.wesome)

I have a Silo and I love it sounds awesome....as do the JP clan I have going...

or give me you Silos so that you can play your Pet all month long!
You guys are so good to me I don't know exactly what to say. If I leave this hanging with out responding BigErn will start with the called for encouragement to get me to respond. As it stands right now I am leaving the Rare Sparkly Burnt Apple Pet to Captian E-2-6. The Redman gets the Green Monster (It's a bad ax). Finally Cali-K gets the BD Silo. That is unless one of you kills me and it's in my will that way.

Other than that I just need to say....

How shall I put this?.....

Let's go with
NO!

Norm, if I'm Cali-k it's a hugely nice gesture, but you can't be serious.

Besides, I wouldn't feel right. A young relative might be a better choice.

I'm starting to grapple with the same questions as my mom's recent death has sort of brought home the point of getting/having your affairs in order. And an up to date will and living trust occupy some of my most personal thoughts these days.

You are the Cali-K. The only younger relative I have is getting the sunburst silo. That's if and only if you behave Southern Steel. Keep me in mind for your BDLuke.

Hey, just my tuppence to the thread, i've got a Silo HSH trem piezo yadda in burnt apple and it's the nicest guitar i've ever seen, played or heard. Can play just about anything on it and make it sound good. Personally i think it stands up well against the 'troosh, i'd like to get my hands on a seven string silhouette tho, thinking it could be interesting.
