Right folks,

we all seem to be discussing this fine guitar of late, so before the single coilers and humbucker people battle it out - I thought I'd put this video out - BP/Mods if this bothers you let me know and I'll take it down.

This review is my own opinion, if you think I'm talking mince, then go try one for yourself, this guitar to me sounds like it does when you see the videos of pros playing it (obviously i'm not a pro but anyway....) but for me it does what it says on the tin....

The 25th - DOES good clean sounds and the series and parallel switch is the 'SECRET WEAPON' - the (and I've probably got this back to front) Series is the twangy thinner sound and the parallel is the thick beefy sound (or the other way about...)

I'm only playing the same chords again and again but the other thing you should see is the natural sustain this gives off - and it's a lot - beats any of my other guitars (balls or not) in sustain hands down...

The distorted sounds do change when going between series and parallel too but I don't think the poor mic on my camcorder picked it up - I also had the camcorder next to the amp so any over-distortion is down to the poor camera man!!!

For today’s video experiment we used a Sovtek Mig100 Head into a marshal 4x12 and a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe, and a Morley AB box to split them there was delay in the first clip (Rocktron Short timer) because I'm an idiot and forgot to turn it off.... nothing else. I’m sure all you boutique people have kit that would make mine weep – most of my dials sit at 12 o’clock I don’t like anything that has flashing lights on my amp – and valves are in all of these, I’m too old to be a metal-head, and I don’t have the hair for it….

Like I say - I understand those who see the well produced promo videos and think 'you need to have tonnes of kit and grease' to get that sound, but I promise you it's the same in a ham fisted moron such as myself, and yes my T-shirt is becoming more famous than me!!

Not trying to upset anyone with this, just looking to offer an independent opinion,

Discuss........;)

I think you should learn to alt pick now in honour of owning this beauty. :p

I have this problem, I'm a man, and men can't multi-task - I can't alt pick watch the camera and think, if I don't watch the camera, then the guitar goes out of shot and you get my elbow on you tube...

some people are never happy!

See, I just dont get how any humbucker guitar can do cleans better than actual single coils, its just not possible. Smelly you own multiple AL's like me, the AL's just do the perfect cleans, surely you can hear the difference?

Sorry for being an AL lover.

you're right rob, it'll take a big burly man named bubba to remove my AL's, but I thought you as a giggin' fella might appreciate the 25th's - if EBMM made an AL that could do all the 25th Stuff i'd rip arms off for it....

I honestly would say that the 25th is the closest thing to getting a single coil sound out of a humbucker (if you want it) ever.

I love my AL's like you do - but do you ever wish they could do more? - maybe this is the answer??

And jim this is my backyard, - I have no neighbours!!

The guitars sounds absolutely awesome. I can hear a mean Brian May sound in there. Got to agree with Rob re single coil sounds, but there again, not every song needs that kind of sound. I for one am looking for something different this time around rather than 2 of the same. Gotta say my appetite is getting much much bigger for this guitar.

From what I've been able to discern the 25th sounds awesome but in its own unique way -- clean or gained out it has its own voice -- total win.
