I have been looking at a guitar that claims to be a EBMM Majesty with serial number M01805. When I put that number into the database, it returns "failed." Is there a way to see if the DB is broken and this is a legit serial number or if this is a fake?

You could email customer service and see if they can help you. As far as the database for laymen like us, it is what it is unfortunately.

Data Base is not always accurate as Glenn said call them
I tried to call and got someone's voice mail. I also used the customer service form and have yet to receive a response to either. The guitar is listed as a Majesty 6 string in Royal Blue, but I can't find any reference to Royal Blue having been a majesty color. Even stranger, the database will bring up information for M01084 and M01086, but not for M01085.

Give them a bit to get back to you. It's not uncommon that there's an error recording the instrument in the database.
