I am seriously stoked about those ebony broads.

Um...I think that thought goes in a different thread. ;)

OK - finally a chance at a Dargie - MADE MY FRIDAY!!!

So for a newbie to limited editions, what's the best way to order...and when? I'm serious about a DD...Bongo!!

As many have said already in this thread and elsewhere, THANKS for being such a cool company with terriffic innovation!! Keeps us coming back for more, that's for sure!!

Key Words, Folks:

SUMMER NAMM

That's July 17th-July 19th. So, that's when the details will be available. If you have a favorite dealer who will be at NAMM in July, get their cellphone number, and bug them while they are there to order it.

AL 5... that's something I didn't need to know about. I better go freeze my credit cards in a big block of ice.

That paint is stunning! I love it. And though I know it'll never happen, I can't help but have visions of something that morphs from blue to purple...that would be incredible.

Oh, and trans orange/tort on the AL...it's the Right Thing To Do.

What exactly is the SLO Stingray Special?

Does this mean I could get a Stringray with the Big AL 3 single coils and electronics or with the Big Poppa Bongo pickup placement and preamp?

I assume it means all normal Stingray pickup options are available, probably not any pickups available on any MM bass. So you can get the Stingray SLO Special with H, HS, or HH alnico pickups and a 3 band Stingray preamp.

He did say ALL pickup configurations..Not all Stingray configurations.

One can only dream...

Don't read too much into it. Don't forget that this would be more than pickup routing. The arrangements for the different preamps don't necessarily translate easily. If it was simply a matter of using a different template, there'd be left handed versions of everything from day one. But, it requires retooling everything when you have everything in house.

Of course, I've also been wrong before according to my wife.
