I just bought a B100r, but I also use a Bassman 400 combo w/1x15 extension cab, a Peavey Databass (450 watts into an amp that is smaller than the B100R!), an Eden 2X10XLT and Eden 18" Sub w/an old Ampeg V6-B, and an SWR Silverado 4X8-love that tone! For practice and the upright I use either my Ampeg B15N or my little Hartke Kickback 10.

Just wanna see what's kickin' as I'm always into tryin' new amps.

i don't really like it, and it's very limited on sound options, apart from the graphic EQ which i really do like, and is the only reason why i'm keeping it.
I really love Polytone amps! if i could find one (apart from the one that i usually play at the town's music school), i'd sure buy it

Sunn 1200S.

QSC RMX1405 with a Sansamp RBI.

Got an Eden WT-400 on the way for those "mellower" moments.

Cabs?

Ampeg 410. Ampeg 115. Musicman Audiophile 212.

Or, as mentioned above, whatever is available!

Waiting for an Avalon U5 (in a week or two)and then trying out various powered PA speakers like the Mackie SRM450s . Got rid of my Mesa WalkAbout and 2x10s a little while ago. Still use an RBI quite frequently though.

Ah...the Ampeg. I wish I could honestly get away with just a 1X15 combo! My B100R will be for jammin' at home and recording.

The 1200S-I had that for a while. Mine was a Music 123 "blem" and it was messed up. Wicked noise...probably a bad tube but for the $800 I paid, I expected better. People rave about that amp though. I would like to try one again.

These days, I'm looking for small but loud. Of course I had to join a band where we get home at 5am after it is all said and done on a regular basis. At that point, less is more!!

Surprised the Walkabout got ditched? Not worth the cash?

Always cool to find out what others are playing though, as to keep my eyes (and ears) open to check'em out.

Definitely worth the cash but I just found that after playing through the U5 for a few gigs with in-ears, everything I've played through since seems like it's got a blanket over it. I also used the Avalon/Mackie set-up for a weeks worth of rehearsals and even when bouncing all around the room I just am gravitating towards the more full-range/even sound that the Avalon and a powered speaker give. Mind you, I did a gig a few weeks ago with one guy I work for and all i had was my RBI going into an 800 watt power amp then into an Ampeg 8x10. Most of the stuff I do though is pretty low key and when the big gigs happen it's always in-ears that I'm using so that's why the Avalon route.... and it seems to like my Realist in my upright as well.

My standard rig is an SWR SM400 into a SWR Goliath Jnr (2x10) and a SWR Son of Berth (1x15).

For more grunt (outdoor shows, pissing wars with guitarists etc) I drive a Yamaha P4500 power amp with a Tubeworks Blue Tube preamp.

I also have an Ampeg SVT-100T (2x8 combo) for unplugged gigs and jamming with acoustic instruments at parties etc.

Ampeg B2R with an Ampeg 4x10. This setup yields 200w. Thinking of adding an Avatar 4x10 cab, then the amp will push 350w.

Cool! I love finding out what people use...as long as you don't need the volume and you like the tone, what's wrong with Behringer? Recorded who would know the difference?

Aussie Mark-I have a Blue Tube....I really like the warmth it gives your tone. My is old and noisy though, so I don't use it anymore (now I might break it out).

I love the added 15 for a band situation. I just like the thump!

I've never checked out an Avalon pre...sounds like you are into the a very dymanic tone. Must have been killer through the Ampeg fridge!

I have to check out more Mesa and GK. It's amazing that you can play for many years, and really have only tried a small portion of what is available.

I can get a very SWR-like tone from the Blue Tube, so my "big" rig with a power amp sounds identical to my SWR SM400, which is great. Have you tried a new tube as a solution to the noise you're experiencing?

Yes...tried a few different tubes (a friend of mine is an audio guy so he has a bunch of old tubes). I found a nice match for my SWR Silverado this way. The Blue Tube is very worn-it was used when I bought it and had seen plenty of action. I did use it for a while in my rig though. To be honest, I haven't even looked at it in a year, so now I may just break it out.
