So what can you tell me?

I've seen shed loads of you guys absolutely raving about Bongos, not had the chance myself to play one yet (thought I think that day will be very soon).

I have some questions.....with a view to buying maybe......

Are they suited to a particular style more than another?

Is there a particlaur pickup config I should favour over another? (purely for versarility reasons)

I have 2 SR4's (rose boards) and play them exclusively (i.e. no other basses) - what will a Bongo do for ME that they cannot?

I have seen them for less $'s than SR4's - does lower price mean any compromises?

The Bongo is a very different animal than the StingRay. It will give you a better midrange emphasis than you SR. My Bongo has more growl and punch than any of my Rays or Sterlings. It is suited for ANY type of music. I have used it for everything from church praise and worship to progressive rock and so on. I think buying a Bongo would be a great idea and would expand your tonal palette.

bongo first of all has two pickups

also 4-band eq lo-mid & hi-mid which definitely gives you a much better midrange

but dont you have to have 2 pickups if you want 4-band eq?

i think 1 pickup can only have 3-band
correct me if im wrong here

Single H Bongos come in 3-band EQs, but the Single H + Piezo Bongos come with the 4s.
