I've got one. Just wondering if I should keep it for now, or if it's worth more to someone else than me. Thank's for the time.

What I was saying is that I have no idea what color you have there, and why would you question if your bass is worth more to someone else unless you're not sure you like it.

NOS = New, Old Stock. MM = Music Man. SUB4 = a bass from Music Man's discontinued "SUB" line of instruments. Cinnamon = a finish applied by Music Man to select instruments in the SUB line that color-shifts green, orange, and yellow pending lighting conditions.

http://forums.ernieball.com/music-m...xture-finish-budget-version-mystic-dream.html

All of this information can be found through simple searches of this forum (^see?), Google, and Wikipedia. Anything else you care to be judgemental about? Good grief...

I dont like your tone. I will remove myself from this conversation, as I have no idea where this is going, nor do I have an understanding why you started this thread.

Way to look like an ass, s6275.

What kind of response are you looking for based on the information you provided in your first post? It was nebulous, at best. Based on your title, I'm assuming you want to flip it for cash.

How can anyone determine whether, or not, it's worth more to someone else? I suggest you keep it until you can articulate what it is actually worth to you or throw it in the for sale thread with a price that you'd be willing to take for the bass to part with it. If someone pays it, it was obviously worth it to them. If they try and get you to bring the price down lower than you are willing to take, it's worth more to you. This is not rocket science.

Post a picture of the bass, and someone might respond with a selling price. You know how much you paid for it. Are you looking to get the full amount back?

And, maybe drop the attitude, too.

*I* was the one trying to determine, by gauging interest, how much it might be worth to someone else. Wow.

I didn't ever really need or require advice or instructions on what represents the "perfect post" from your perspective, or anyone else's.

The SUB series was a way-cool offering from MM; the finish on yours sounds great!
I've seen used SUBS in the $400-600 range IIRC.
They have a "collectors value" to some because of course they're no longer built- However, in today's Buyer's Market, I've seen very good condition 'Rays, Sterlings, etc. in the $800-900 range.
So i guess it depends on when/where it's posted for sale and if you attract the attention of a player who's interested in a SUB 4.
You might have an advantage due to the finish, dunno!
Good luck if you decide to sell it, if not- Rawk it! (-:

Not sure why the OP has some panties bunching up. Seemed perfectly clear to me. [shrugs]

I've owned a handful of S.U.B.s and they're badass. Let's see some pics!

This might bring in a slightly higher price than a typical SUB4 because of the color. If you have it and are thinking of selling, post it in the FS thread. You'll know pretty quickly if you've overpriced it. If you're looking to buy it from someone and want to know the value, it's worth what the market will support and you're willing to pay. I do like the color from the skinny string thread... Maybe it was a test color for the DDII series.

+1000!

Sorry if I didn't articulate my feelings, but I was a little confused as to what the OP was looking for with this thread.

I have a sub 5 that same color and it doesn't color change. You must have a one of a kind worth what ever someone is willing to pay for it. Usually determined by the neck, overall condition, whether it comes with a case. I have owned 15 subs ranging in price from 165 to 650.

Nice one s6275 - this bass would probably be snapped up by someone on Talkbass or other forums - or even in the for sale thread here. It would be good if you post some pictures though.

By the way guys, having just dropped into this thread I was slightly taken aback by the apparent bad karma of a number of people - I wasn't entirely sure s6275 deserved a telling off simply from answering what appeared to be a non friendly response straight down the line........................just saying - and that's how it comes across to me.

Really? Is it active? Ever considered selling it?

Textured Cinnamon really only seems to do its thing in natural sunlight or stage lighting. Have you ever had it outside?

It is an active one, I will take it outside sometime and see if it color changes. It is promised to a good friend if I sell it, I have heard the red sub 5's are rare. Most of the ones I have owned were black or grey.

I took it outside this morning and now I see what you are talking about. It is a magical color containing speckles that give off different colors in bright light. It is more than just red or cinnamon. Very subtle color changing. Thanks for pointing that out!

also owned many a SUB - all 4s - paid anywhere from $212 up to $900 when they were new...

seems to fall in the 275-450 range most of the time.....on TB any priced over that just seem to never move - locally they sell for $400-$500.....ime
