I've said it before and I'll say it again. The Axis Sport is the under rated model of the Axes line.

I've had 2 and I hope to be able to get another one someday soon. :D

Pete's got my old Blue Dawn one and he's taking awesome care of it.

John "GrumpyOldMan" has my beloved Silver Sparkle Axis Sport hardtail, I loved that guitar and I'm really, really glad that John bought it because I know he loves it as well and gives it the attention it deserves.

You know it! These pics are a bit old though - it now has Zebra Axis pickups instead of the all-blacks.

Here's mine (take 2)

Here's mine... I originally bought mine back in early 2000 (same color as the one in the pic but with trem). I dunno why but I regretfully sold it about four years ago.

Early this year I just really missed that guitar so I rang up my music shop to ask about the Axis Sport (or Axis Super Sport) and they told me a second hand Axis Sport just came in. Got them to put a sold sticker on it coz I know MM guitars are always a magic to play.

The moment I played it, it really reminded me of my old one... It's now my main guitar. Sound is just amazing!!!

Poj, what config and stuff?

Glenn |B)
Not sure.

Maybe, SSS with trem, maple fretboard.
HSS is interesting too.

I can wait till I found the one I really like, then I'll hit the "Buy it now" button.
Just like I did with the Sub1 and Silo Spec.

I'm not sure if a sport would be for me, i would love one though.
I know u said the SS is sweet and give u a sport anyday but there are some vast differences in the guitars. Wood for starters, SS is basswood with maple whereas the Sport is just ash. I'd love one with single coils and hardtail but ive yet to see a finish on a sport that I like, actually dubaldos blue sparkle is nice but typically the flat colours dont do anythin for me.

Was there any sports made with tops at all?
Maybe even a super sport with 3 single coils?

Ive always fancied a Tele guitar and I think an Ash Sport would deliver that.
Maybe if it had a tobaccoburst figured flame top yummy

SS MM90 is Ash! But it does have the maple top.

So the Sports were all Ash, non-floyd, but offered a bunch of pick-up configs?

I just dont understand how the Sports became so underrated, they are top notch quality EBMM's like all the others. I also managed to hunt down an SSS after a couple of years of searching (SSS's were made for less than a year and are thin on the ground!)...I love it and its got killer tone!

I asked someone at EBMM that same question..why no more sports? apparantly low demand, compared to the ss...bottom line rules,malheureusement...as for the finishes on my 2 sports...superb...my main player is a mm90 sport,rosewood....red..all keepers.

I need an Axis Sport to complete my duo into a trio - I have an Axis (see MobileMe Gallery) and an Axis Super Sport (see MobileMe Gallery) Can you spot the empty hole in my Axis line up? ;)

Based on that alone they need to bring back the range! :D

Other than that I guess I'll have to have a look for a pickguardless one on evilbay...
