Hi all,

I saw an old thread the other day asking about whether EB still sends free strings when you register...

I remembered I still hadn't seen mine & it was over 3 months ago when I reg'd it soooo....

On Sunday ( Oz Time ) I emailed Beth @ international customer service asking if they'd misplaced my registration info, gave it again ( and also my preferred Type of strings )..

This morning ( Tuesday morning ) I got an email from Heather telling me that the strings are on their way!!!!!!

The email also included a "Rock On!!!" how cool!!!

Props to Heather, Beth & all at Ernie Ball... Excellent service!!

Just thought I'd let everybody know.

Cheers,

Dan

I actually got two free sets of strings. I registered when I got my bass, and then one day I was really bored, and I registered again, and they sent me another set.

nice way to "use" the system...

generosity isn't a right, it's an option, one that EBMM has taken so respect that, please.

Let me get this straight...You take advantage of a generous free string offer and then defraud the company that was nice enough to give you strings, then you come onto the forum and tell us all about it. Nice.

I didn't expect it to work... I didn't even mean for it to happen.. It was just something I did, and I was pleased when I received a second set free. Whatever..

Never have gotten my strings yet either. I do figure I have seen enough good from the EB folks that I won't bother to ask for free strings. I know the offer is good but also know it is tough to get the free strings to everyone that registers on the Internet. And EB I offer my free string set to you for the ones that got two.

I can think of no company I think more of than EB.

 I think you misspelled your name - shouldn't it be "thedud"?
Anyway, that's a surefire way to get a company to stop a promo like that.

When my new Bongo arrived with a faulty pup back in July I registered immediately. Jon sorted out the pup problem very quickly but I never got any strings.

Faulty bass on arrival = unhappy customer

Faulty bass on arrival + rapid support = happy customer

Faulty bass on arrival + rapid support + no strings on registration = unhappy customer.

+1. They sent strings to me as well.

+2 (sort of)

They're sending me a set in the UK.

At a guess, the registration software has issues.

Here is the story:

About 4 months ago, we discontinued the promotion to receive a free set of strings for registering online. We also stopped printing the "hang-tags" that are included with our instruments before shipping *offering the free strings*. However, there are still hang-tags in circulation. If you received a hang-tag *offering the free strings* with your instrument when it was purchased, please send it to us, and we will be happy to honor it and send you a free set of strings. There is one person in our billing department that handles sending out these free sets of strings to everyone around the world. These are free strings, and we even pay the postage, so please be patient.

Please also keep in mind that there are situations that are simply beyond our control. If the hang-tag was lost in the mail, or the address was un-readable when we received the tag and the strings were returned to us because it was not able to be delivered, or any other unforseeable problems involved, there is nothing more we can do.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
