Send me a free kangaroo dlloyd, and we'll talk about a free bass. :p

Well I've just checked my Hang Tag and there is no mention about free strings so I guess that's it.

However considering the trauma of finding my brand new Bongo was faulty, diagnosing the fault, discussing with the factory, fitting the new pup, setting it up again and then paying to return the old pup to the USA I reckon I'm owed something - a string, a set of strings, a Bongo T-shirt, a Stingray T-shirt, another Bongo. :(

Hi all,

I saw an old thread the other day asking about whether EB still sends free strings when you register...

I remembered I still hadn't seen mine & it was over 3 months ago when I reg'd it soooo....

On Sunday ( Oz Time ) I emailed Beth @ international customer service asking if they'd misplaced my registration info, gave it again ( and also my preferred Type of strings )..

This morning ( Tuesday morning ) I got an email from Heather telling me that the strings are on their way!!!!!!

The email also included a "Rock On!!!" how cool!!!

Props to Heather, Beth & all at Ernie Ball... Excellent service!!

Just thought I'd let everybody know.

Cheers,

Dan

When my new Bongo arrived with a faulty pup back in July I registered immediately. Jon sorted out the pup problem very quickly but I never got any strings.

Faulty bass on arrival = unhappy customer

Faulty bass on arrival + rapid support = happy customer

Faulty bass on arrival + rapid support + no strings on registration = unhappy customer.

free strings are just a bonus ... the slinks are less than $20 a set (where i get strings at least) and a new EB bass is in the $1,100 neighborhood ... so everyone who's mad should calm down. LoL

its not a big deal. and i dont mean to knock sliks, but i dont use them anyway and from what ive read here im assuming most of you guys dont either

That was my point exactly... Heather did a great job for me...

BTW Slinks here can cost up to $60 If I remember right ( I bought a set & put them on out of my own munny when the free one's didn't turn up )..

I quite like them.. And now I'll have another set sitting around which is a nice situation to be in... I'll start looking at other brands when I get through these 2 sets.. (I have DR's on my Pbass)

Oh, and about the Kangaroo Heather.. I'd send you one but they scratch themselves in public.. Not the best look!!

Good online store for EB strings. Buy several sets at once, and the international shipping is minimal on a per set basis ..... http://www.juststrings.com/ernieballelectricbassguitar.html
