My daughter likes my Axis best from all the guitars I have/had ... because it looks (in her mind) like a creamsicle ?? The orange (gold really) and cream. Its funny because she tells people I play loud music with my creamsicle guitar.

Wow, Dugger! That's cool. I don't think that I would go to such the extreme, but I do think that I'm going to ask the guys at the shop not to let anyone else mess with my baby while it's there, don't want to go there and have it be all scratched up by a student or anything and one of those things that I hate more than anything is when tone-deaf guitar players try and tune the guitar their trying and they screw it all up. That drives me absolutely nuts!

Anyway, I still have my Ibanez, Fogman, though my teacher used to call it "I'vebeenhad", which I started calling it after I attempted to do an amature calibration on it during our recording in NY earlier this year. I'm not getting rid of it, though, it just pissed me off and I wanted to throw it through the window. I loved the action on that thing and I had a EVH Rhythm Duncan in my Bridge spot. Nice quack to it and perfect for some soloing. Oh, well.

Cheezy? You have no idea...

For me, getting a new guitar is almost a religious experience. I've almost come to believe that waiting is ALMOST the best part. (I'm currently waiting for my Desert Gold JP6 to come in sometime in September)

I've bought quite a few new guitars over the past few years, and have a certain ritual I do once the guitar finally makes it to my dealer:
1) I tell my dealer to make sure NO ONE OPENS THE BOX! I want mine to be the first set of non-factory hands to touch the guitar! The unclean shall not touch thine axe!
2) I'll go pick it up from the dealer, but I refuse to open it in the store. (This really irks them, since I'm one of very few people that special orders high-end guitars from them, and it's the only chance they usually get to see them.)
3) When I get home, the phone gets taken off the hook, and I'll pop in my favorite CD at the time (to get the mood just right)
4) I'll (ever-so-gingerly) begin to open the box, making sure to keep it as intact as possible.
5) Once the case has been successfully removed from it's 'birth shell', I'll inspect the case and make sure everything looks skippy.
6) Here's the moment of truth. I'll carefully undo the case locks, and s-l-o-w-l-y lift the lid to take a peek.
7) Once I change my diaper, I'll finally take it out of it's case and give it a really good once over to make sure it's okay
8) Once I'm satisfied, I'll FINALLY start to put it through it's paces.
9) After I've given it a setup and tired myself out, I'll usually end my night staring at it for the rest of the night, soaking in all of it's beautiful newness.

Life is good. ;)

Hope you get yours soon! Hang tough man!

Wow! I thought I was the only one that was this crazy! When I got my JP6, I took pictures as I opened the case! I still go through a careful cleaning ritual before putting it back in it's case at night. My other guitars are hanging on the wall, but the JP goes in it's case, nicely polished.

There's something about the finish & shine - I almost don't want to touch it! :D

C'mon, Jon, take some pictures of my guitar for me, will ya? C'mon, you know you want to and what's more, it would make everyone happy to stop listening (reading) to me posting about it... heheheheh :p

Just kidding.

I will say that I'm grateful to you Cats at EB for posting pics of that JP Neck-Through. That's gotta have some killer tone when it's done. I'm gonna go post about it in one of those other threads.

It was The Pathetics The Aquabats and Blink 182 (Ithink it was the first gig Travis Barker played with Blink..He was in The Aquabats) It was both our ideas to go, but he was a bit younger then, and liked crap like the Aquabats. We used to go to lots of shows...Warped Tour etc.
