The Styx song is Come Sail Away, and that was my favorite song when I was 14 or so. Styx was also my first concert, so I can't be very objective, though I freely admit they sucked after about 1980. I LOVE the Cartman version.

Dont get me wrong I really enjoyed seeing them live, very theatrical and Tommy Shaw was fantastic, but that one song.....OMG!

Enjoy!

Mary J Blige- sounds like a transvestitie Donald Duck being run through a bandsaw.........

I don't know if I've ever heard, or paid attention to any of her stuff....however, after your imagery, I know exactly what she sounds like.

I pretty much dislike anything that Phil Collins does--maybe because my wife likes his stuff & I know she doesn't have any musical taste. When we first got married, she had all of these albums by Seals & Croft (or whomever did that piece of crap "Summer Breeze"). And, oh yeah, Kenny Loggins--he needs to get a terminal disease.

Anything by the Kotton Mouth Kings... unless the inside of my skull was completely coated with bong residue. Then they might be slightly tolerable... but as of right now, I'd rather slam my head in a car door.

Damn..

I feel as if I have dodged a bullet cause you guys know I read this stuff otherwise I think my head would look like the Kennedy Zabruder film. hahaha
You are TOO kind cause I could start naming a few turkeys from my cataloge myself. hahaha They were NOT all gems, particularly the early records. I appreciate being given immunilty. hahaha
I am loving these raves though. I had forgotten some of these "classics" mentioned .
How about "Everybody Wang Chung tonight"? I always wondered what that REALLY meant?
Keep them comin

"The Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats was bloody awful!

And then they went and did an ever worse one called "Pop Goes The World"!

UGH!! I blame Luke for bringing up Wang Chung! I need an alka-seltzer now! :D

Have you ever heard the Isley Brothers cover of Summer Breeze? It's really good. A great band can do wonders with lousy material. Seals & Crofts did the crappy version.

Well done, Dave! Hilarious! Thank you for pitching in!

Without bagging on certain EB-affiliated artists, I'd like to point out those songs that people write purely for the shock value:

-"Crazy B*tch"
-That song where the guy says "I like the way you smack my a$$"
-that other song where the guy says something about dirty knees and stained dresses

PUHLEESE

oooo, I'm shocked. That doesn't mean I'm gonna go out and buy your record now.

Thank you!

How about that "go home get stoned" song? Awful... yet everyone is like "duuuuude aren't those some awesome lyrics???" Too bad I have a thing called dignity, or I might have already been rich by now

AMEN to that, brotha! Even though I think that band is endorsed by EB, lol I definitely think you'd be rich by now with these colorful descriptions of what these songs make you do.

Yeah, I mean, when you "go home and get stoned", why would the s3x be "so much better when you're mad at me"? I don't get it. Getting stoned and getting mad?

Yeah!!!
That was his explanation for everything ...
"Why did I wet my pants ... because I got high"
"Why did my car run out of gas ... because I got high"
"Why did I wake up in my front lawn ... because I got high"
"Because I got high, because I got high, because I got high"

Hey Jodie!

The next few EB dealers you call, get their concensus too! Then post! Come on, it will be fun!!! Tell them if they give you their least favorite song, *then* they get the monthly special!! :)

-Beth

Someone must not have told Ryon about this - I've talked with him a few times the past week and a half and nary a mention of least favorite songs & a monthly special.

Although I did order a bunch of those large wonder wipes ;)

Ryon hasn't been in on our secret forum fun! If you were my dealer though, I totally would have gotten your say ;)
In fact Pete .. tell me a song you cannot stand and I might get a little somethin' special in the mail for yah ... got some extra time this afternoon :p

PS-next time you talk to Ryon you should get his input and post it. A little role reversal hahaha

I do b'leeb Ryon sent me somethin yesterday. I'm just stirring the pot a little bit because that's what I do when I need a nap.

Oh yeah...
"Jump For My Love" makes me want to jump off a cliff
"Who Can It Be Now" I sure hope it's the Grim Reaper coming for me.
Europe "Carrie" makes me want to cut off my toes and jam them into my ears.

And I can't forget
Oingo Boingo "Nothing Bad Ever Happens To Me" I wish all 23 accordions we have in stock would jump off the wall and crush me.

BTW, if you made it into my NAMM vid, you're famous!

LOL

Wasn't Wang Chung some brand of cook-it-at-home-yourself Chinese food? That's what I think of all the time when I hear that song. Like those chow mein noodles you can buy at the store, "everybody cook Chinese tonight"... :D

Another one that this category reminds me of is that song by the Fine Young Cannibals "She Drives Me Crazy". That song, well, er... um.... drives me crazy.

Oh thank you. Now I have that song bouncing inside my cranium. Make it stop, please! :(

Must... must think of new song... sensory meltdown...
