Songs you cannot stand

The best part is that I was so young when I heard it, that I didn't know what it meant and went around telling it :D

My grandpa taught me how to say
"What the hell is that smell?!" when I was five.
My parents weren't tto proud, but my grandpa loved it. I didn't get it

Wow. Just found this thread.

Here's some I loathe, and I'm sure many have been named

Red, Red Wine (whatever it's called)
Old Time Rock and Roll
Enter Sandman (pretty much anything with lars on drums)
Lady in Red
American Idiot
Are You Gonna Be My Girl (Jet)
and . . . anything with ME singing

I could go all night listing tunes.

Finally, TO quote DAVEB. "First up COLDPLAY - this is music for people who know nothing about music."

AMEN, Bro. Amen.

"If you like p*nis-colitus"

"and being boned in the rain"

I want to gnaw my own ears off when Steve Perry sings, "When the lights go down in the Sit-A."

In the WHAT?

Okay, Phil Freaking Collins, "Sussudio" is not a word. Shut UP and play your drums.

Has "We Built This City" been mentioned yet?

Grace has a shotgun and I have a suggestion for her.

Also, ANYTHING by Bobby Goldsboro, but especially "Honey". She's dead, Jim.

Oh yeah:

"Having my baby,
what a lovely way of saying you forgot your diaphragm"

But you guys get your filthy mouths off the Archies or there WILL be trouble.

Jack

Sit-A, AHAHAHAHAHAH!!!

For the longest time I thought "harday" was a word. You could imagine my Mom's horror when, one day, I succinctly asked her "Mom, what's a harday?" After years of listening to my Mom's country music and the repeated use of the word "heartache" with the "trailing off" technique used in singing, I had invented my own word "harday".

Right now, the song that is most bugging me is the background song for a Ford truck commercial "MORE FUN!" ARRRGGGHHH

"Only time will tell if we stand the test of time."

Really? That's the only way? Is it a written test?

Gak.

Ladies and Gentleman, the Stupidest Lyric Ever Written! Bravo bravo!!!

"Only time will tell if we stand the test of time"

No, really?

How about the most overplayed commercial jingle in history, or at least in the past year (coincidentally, also from a truck commercial):

THIS IS OOUUUR COUNTRY!

No sh*t.

LOL!

I was damned well sick of "Like a Rock" on those Chevy ads and couldn't believe how long it lasted.

And I'm already sick of "This is our Country".

I miss Dinah Shore, "See the USA, in a Chevrolet."

Jack

PS: I think Luke played on all those Dinah Shore records.

Although I must submit this as competition including the worst reach for a rhyme ever

She'll expose you
When she snows you
Off your feet with the crumbs she throws you
She's ferocious
and she knows just what it takes
to make a pro blush

All the boys think she's a spy
She's got Bette Davis eyes
