Posted this on the skinny string side ... but it really belongs here.
I was stuck at the office late on Friday, but when I had the chance I went around the block and managed to help out a few seniors that needed help moving things, crossing the street, etc. Also handed out some change to the local homeless guys. I said "Happy Chuck Day" to everybody (got lots of confused looks, but hey).
Sort of O/T, but in the "feel good" vein-
It was a feel good weekend. Saturday day I hosted a charity poker tournament for a friend who has developed ALS (he's only 31 and the effect is devastating). We raised a ton of money and everybody who participated was extremely moved, esp. our friend.
And Sunday I spent the day helping a charity my girlfriend helps run ("The Corsage Project") to send girls with no money to their high school prom- local outfits donate dresses, cosmetics, jewelery, etc. Really has a positive effect to make hundreds of girls who don't have much feel like queen for a day.
So "good deed Chuck Friday" ran on for an entire weekend.
