I'm also buying lunch for a co-worker who's been down a lot latley, due to his father being very, very sick and in the hospital.

Happy Birthday Chuck - Best wishes for you and your family.

Chuck, dont forget my 50th birthday, it'll be July 1st, 25 years from now... :D

Today, I saw someone nonchalantly fling his cigarette butt on the ground inside my base. I politely reminded him that littering detracts from the appearance of the base and that he should pick up his cig butt. When he attempted to offer me his unsolicited opinion I gave him an opportunity to have a bigger impact on base beautification by making him pick up 199 more.

Happy Berfday PW!

I brought in coffee and a gorgeous apricot tart for everyone at work this afternoon -- and told them all about you, your cowboy outfit, your birthday and Sterling's request for good deeds. There was great rejoicing!

(I also had today off, and came in to do this, so that makes it a little more special.)

Also did some other good things. Now, since I'm here, I'll get to work!

Happy Birthday, you special person, you.

:)

Chuck This camp is really special and trains these kids in all aspect of fitness nutrition and a lot about life while they are at it.. It is a husband and wife team that are really passsionate about what they do.

Many kids will have to submit a 200 word essaY on why the should get the Chuck Ward Fitness Scolarship.

There will be more posted later but thanks all who have done something nice today for our old demented pal Chuckles.

Hey Chuck it wasnt that bad...right?

My pal Bob plays bass with the Psychodots and the Bears and a couple of other really interesting bands in Ohio. The 'Dots, while AMAZING, never made much money and the Bears happen every few years when The Famous Guy has time.

Meanwhile, Bob sells real estate, is a great cook, is good with his kids, works hard, plays the same basses he's been playing for decades and only occasionally laments the basses that were stolen long ago.

This week, just because Bob is a damned fine human being, we bought him a Danelectro that had been setup and finessed by our luthier pal, Corey Keller.

I know this is the Ernie Ball forum, but I hope I can be forgiven for posting this:

That's Bob and his new bass. We didn't have a lot of money, but I think we got the best we could for what we spent - and Bob loves it, which is good, because we're not buying him another thing this year.

Heh.

The Bears are doing a short tour of the midwest, if anyone is interested in some weirdly cool American rock and roll with a severe Beatles influence.

And their new album is called "Eureka!"

I love me some Bob Nyswonger, and that was our good deed this week, which we dedicate to Chuck Ward Day.

(Yes, I wish we could have bought him a Music Man.)

Once again, I am humbled!

Wow! I am truly humbled by the generosity of the MIGHT FORUMITES once again!

You guys are all top notch!

BP, Beffie, and Tombboy, my hat is off to you! Gestures like that change lives.

I gave my co-worker concert tix so some of her friends that couldn't afford them got the chance to go.

I pulled 3 cactus thorns from Mojo's (see avatar) nose today, and told him he had Chuck to thank for it.

Happy Birthday, Chuck. Don't believe the hype - old is only in the mind... and the hips, and back, and...

PS: Mojo thanks you!

1. I bought a homeless dude some gyros and when he thanked me, I told him "Thank Chuck Ward, King of Lefthanzia." Then in true Psycho Ward fashion, I handed him a six-pack of ice cold Budweiser. He then proceeded to run in to traffic naked only being slowed by the H2 that sent him flying. Poor bastard. :p

2. I'm helping my buddy drywall tomorrow morning.

Here's a quick pic of the front counter at the store today, and yes, i had a ball telling folks about "my buddy Chuck Ward who's turning 50 today" and our "Random Acts of Chuck Wardness Day"

really gave some folks a good chuckle and a smile. And BP, Beth, et al, wow, the coolness just never ends!

I did a couple of things - not on the caliber of BP, Beth, and Tombboy - but I tried.

I answered a request from a member on TB who was looking for a fretless to play this weekend for a recording session - no one I knew. I made contact and agreed to loan him my fretless Sterling.

Also took a client out for lunch and then golf - and I let him win!

Happy Birthday Chuck!

Let's see this is a tough one, because I help people all the time in my job, not because I have too, because I want too.

For Chuck today, I helped one of my co-workers out who was stuck with something. Also directed another on where to locate a particular piece of software and to install it to make his life a little bit easier.

I also sold OC my BD Silo for a really good deal and ate half the shipping costs.

I hope these qualify. Chuck Happy 50th man.

This is my official, and heart felt. thank you part!

BP started this with a single mission,

“I want Chuck to see a big impact his birthday will have on other people.”

Mission accomplished Sir!

My God, you folks did great things! I can’t explain this behavior, but it was good, for once, just good deeds and stories. No bitch’n or negative view points on anything. A day that was a little more positive than some of the tragic and confusing days we’ve had this week.

It lifted me, I’ve gotten kind of excited about being 50, I'm more surprised than anything, I’ve had way too much fun. But I have the most fun with you people, BP and Company have a different thing going, over here, from the instruments to the forum it’s… hell, I can’t put into words, it a community, a virtual commune, a cool bar, a friends living room, it is the hippest place I know. A group of people, people that care enough to look out for others.

What’s wrong with that? Nothing!

I want to personally thank all of you for the nice deeds you did today. I also know though, that you same people do nice things everyday. I’m proud BP made me focus for this campaign but be proud of your self’s. I will take me some time to process this all in my head, but, but WOW!!!

Thanks BP for everything, and all my “virtual friends” too… you're too cool!

Here is my favorite photo of the day, Carly and some old guy… (one of my "good deeds" was not making my Son miss a trip to the skatepark... Beth took the picture, so no pictures of her... darn it!}

Technically Jack is still older than me!

BP, you were right, today wasn't bad at all. :D
Thank you sir!

Have you checked the guitar side to see what they did for you? Very impressive for skinny stringers

Chuck,
I'm a little late posting about the goodness that happened here in korea, but it was an international good karma incident, so it was awesome. I decided to take the KATUSAs (Korean Augmenties to United States Army) that work with me out for some good spicy korean chicken and beer!
These guys are great people who work translating for the 8th Army Band when we go out on tour, and often they sing the Korean National Anthem at cerimonies.
The sad thing is they are drafted for 2 years between the ages of 18-25 and only get paid about 45 bucks a month. These guys put their entire lives on hold for two years, and get paid next to nothing so PVT Jang, CPL Jung, and PFC Kim were loving a night away from the chow hall.

Happy Birthday Chuck,
You truly are the king of Lefthanzia!
