Cheers Lenny - I thought that it did have "plugs".

I'm gonna wait for the warranty to run out before I dive in !

Another tip/trick when using steel wool...

Instead of taping off your pickups, wrap the steel wool around a magnet. It will keep the little bits from going everywhere.
Thats a great tip
- remember to take your watch off too! (whilst using a magnet)

They probably do on the newer ones, but mine is still wired point to point with the cloth covered wire. I'm replacing the pickgard on mine and plan on wiring in a connector when I put it back together.

Nope we are talking about the connector that you can see in the cavity were the volume and tone are ,you just unscrew the pickguard and un hook the connector and its done the whole pickguard and pots and pickups all come out as one:D
hope that answered your question my brother in balls!:D

Oooooooooooh, you mean THAT connector! :D

Ok, so please bear with me. The other half of the connector, which is attached to the pickguard must still be wired to the pickups? Is that easy to do? I mean, new pickups don't come with a connector, so you use the old one, or are new ones available? Do they require soldering?

Lenny, I had a bass boat that color once. It blinded the fish into submission . Kiddin man, sweet rig.

Yes, it does remind of the Will Ray Asat, Rob.

yip the other half is wired to the pickups, and it seems it would be easy enough if u had the right connector and i beleive also that the P/U\s wires just slide into the connector ,its a really clean finish best i have ever seen really, your Redburst sparkle probably has the same thing ,next time u change your strings open her up 1 to see the connector and 2 to see how deadly the finishing of the guitar UNDERthe pick guard i tell yah ....like i siad like nothing i have ever seen!

I may just do that, Lenny. I'd like to see it up close. Thanks, my Ballsy amigo.

Another G&L to MM convert. ;)

I had an offer to trade an Axis Sport I had for sale for a beautiful, as new sunburst Legacy. As much as I like the Legacy I did not want to go back to a 12" radius, or a floating trem of the G&L. I wound up selling the Axis and buying another SS.

I though it was so ingenious that when i discovered this in my SiloSpec, i installed the same connector in all of my other guitars with pickguards !
