Our opening order arrived today, along with several other EBMM products. I wound up having to double what we originally ordered because everything was selling out before they came in. We have at least 1 of each model still available.

And... a Luke? Baritone guitar? ( I know, I know, asking too much...)

Thanks for posting those pics Pete, these instruments look mighty fine. Love the trans gold Axis.

Love the trans gold Axis.

Yeah, me too. I like it for me, but I'm also going to clue-in a guy that I work with about 'em. An Indian dude I met a few weeks ago. I have a feeling from our conversations that he's good, and interestingly, there's also a drummer I work with who I *know* is good. Could be interesting. Anyway, the Indian guy, Rafeeq, is currently without a guitar & in need of one. He asked me specifically if I had a recommendation for a cheaper but good guitar with a locking nut & FR tremolo. Yes I do!

It was kinda funny, he said that he plays "classic rock ... you know, like Iron Maiden and old Metallica". Though I try hard to avoid stereotypes, it was not what I was expecting to hear from this very clean cut looking Indian MIT kid.

Anyway, gonna hook him up with a link this weekend, and with any luck, I'll get to try it out soon myself. ;)

That brings up a very interesting question about pricing:

As some of you may know, our band was able to tour the Philippines last summer. We player at very different locations and met lots of very nice people and some incredibly talented musicians. Their main problem is availability of instruments and pricing. First of all, most of the brands are not available at all, and second, most of them are even more expensive than in Europe. Which is kind of silly when comparable salaries are just a tiny fraction.

It would be absolutely phantastic, if the Sterling line was made available in poor countries worldwide at moderate prices. These kids deserve a chance to express their musicality!

Differences?

Hey all! Been since August since I last showed up here.

Spotted the new line on my radar, and (being in the market for a budget 5'r) wanted to know the notable differences between this line and the EB/MM's.

I'm sure this has already been addressed, but please humor a lazy fart.

Thanks!
James

That Silo20 is a STEAL! Nuts! I hope it hits big time, such a great design deserves it! Everything else is also very good priced, but I can't believe the Silo20, seriously.

I went to The Perfect Bass Saturday, and was surprised to see these there.. I played the SB14 and Ray34.. Not too bad.. ;)

The SB14 sounds and feels like a Sterling and the Ray34 sounds and feels like a Ray.. Who would have thunk it? :)
