thanks Brian. I have to wait til they hit Canada and try out both the green and the purple in person. The lighting can be quite dramatic in how they look, I know, because both my JP6 and JP50 look totally different depends on the lighting.

Hi Brian

any idea when JP70 will be available in Europe? My local music store couldn't give me any details...

Should be sometime in mid-late April.
Best thing is to go on our website, look under "International Dealers/Distributors" and email the Distributor in your area.

I will definitely do that. Was hoping to be able to lay my hands on JP70 a bit earlier though.

Just got my transgreen JP70 today from Pete Dubaldo, he even installed the Dimarzio CL/Liqui and Dimarzio toggle in. Initial impressions are extremely satisfied for the price, plus they look pretty dam good.

:)

Glad you are digging it! Post some pics of it with the modifications, would love to see it. Would be great if you could post them to our Facebook page as well. Lots of inquiries as to Pete's modifications and I've love to have you share that on FB.

The sound is amazing, I have to admit I didn't bother with the stock pickups [which knowing the quality of Sterling are probably very good anyways] because I'm happy with the CL/LF combo whether its a basswood or alder body guitar, they're what I am now used to and nail the sounds I want. Been a full day now playing round with it, so I can honestly say through the Mark V it delivers, low end is articulate as should be and not muddy. Also used upstairs in bedroom with my little Dime practice amp and its fun to use there as well. LF in neck is great for the fast runs, real nice warm middy sound. The cleans are excellent, the toggle switch Pete put in give me the "middle toggle" position which I love in all my Petruccis to give that sparkling single coil sound I usually use for clean arpeggios/solos. and the bridge allows you to go up or down with the trem as should, and so far not one bit out of tune. Comparing to the Ibanez S7420 which I had 2 years ago, this is out of the league. People like the S7420 too for $750... I hated how the big neck felt, and the sound was horrible...muddy and lifeless. Even when I had someone put in CL/LF in it, it still wasn't at all what I was looking for in lower priced 7.

Long post short, I love the guitar so far and don't think I'll ever be able to find a flaw with it, especially in that excellent price region. Petes install was flawless, highly recommend to those of you who want a 7 to add to your collection without hurting wallet.
