I own two JP50's. Liked the first one so much I got another. I also own a Silhouette, and they compare surprisingly well! Did a few mods on the JP50's. Wilkinson bridge on both, and put a Dimarzio Breed in the bridge of one. LOVE 'em! Could someone post a link to the fb page? I'd love to join!

Last year I got the JP100D RRB and recently added a new member to the SBMM family :)

Thought I'd give this thread a bump with a little project of mine.

Is it sacrilegious to put Seymour Duncans in a Petrucci guitar? :D

Sometimes I think these guitars don't get enough respect on their own right, for me they just play great. Probably why I have 3 of them now. As much as I dig the Crunchlab/liqufier putting in some SDs with a more PAF feel really gives the guitar an entire different sound. Doesn't look to bad either, in my opinion.

I'd love to see an SBMM version of the Majesty... Kind of like what they did with the LK100D... Same look as the Majesty (give or take trying to re-create the laser etching), same incredible neck through design, same pickups, the same boost system they used on the LK100D... Really hope this dream comes true!
P.d.: fantastic work on the Mystic Dream esque finish guys!

Honestly, buddy, I don't see that happenin'. The majesty is one of the biggest innovations in guitar to come around in a long time. To make a cost effective version of it.....I don't know, man. But I definitely would like to see an expansion of SBMM's JP line.

a mystic dream jp60, better treatment of the fretboard, 7 string versions of the jp100, stuff like that.

Stealth JP57

Here is my Prototype JP57. The grain on fret board is really nice. I also have a matching Stealth JP 50.

Vince - It's been a while, so I don't remember. Does that tremolo on the JP57 Prototype use a screw in arm, or a push in arm?

Brian- I don't know if you remember but we talked on the phone about this guitar before I purchased it from Pete Dubaldo. I just wanted to know if it was real but should have asked more questions in hindsight. Didn't really matter I was buying it anyway! The Tremolo is screw in type and chrome with a black knob. It's weird and wish it was black but I don't leave it in and won't use it anyway. Do you happen to know what pick ups were used in it? It's so fun to play. The neck is far superior to anything 7 string I have played (aside from the EBMM 7's). Also do you know anything about the other three prototypes? Would be interested to know more about any of them and where they may be... thanks for your interest.

Hi Vince!
Let me see if I have that tremolo arm hiding somewhere around my stash of stuff.
The pickups are just standard SBMM design pickups, based on the CL/LF Dimarzios. All the prototypes were subtly different, including a hardtail model. Each one is truly one of a kind, because we didn't settle on any of those designs. The most notable difference is the non-recessed, dive only trem. The protos were that way since we hadn't completed the engineering on the SBMM Modern Trem 7 bridge (that full floats like our current JP70).
I have the final prototype sitting in my office. It's the guitar that we are giving away on our Facebook page for the "20K Like" contest we are running. It's basically exactly like the production JP70, except it's the only one that we've made in Gloss Black, Black Hardware. The only exception is it has black tuning machines with Pearloid buttons. You can see it on our FB page.

A black trem arm would be nice! I would imagine that a dive only trem for production would not have been well received especially as the JP 50 was floating. Thanks for the info. The pickups are nice in this guitar. I plan to preserve it as you all made it. I have been playing it more and more in past several weeks. I really do like the neck and overall feel/sound of these guitars. I also have a BFR Koa top JP EBMM and the SBMM's I have really do hold there own and play them all equally. I appreciate this interaction and look forward to the possibility to a black trem arm! Thanks again!
Yeah I'm hoping to win that FB guitar. May be only way my wife will let me increase my collection at this point!
