I thought that I'd share an observation I had in the Plano Guitar Center yesterday. I was talking with a guy who was trying out a Jazz Bass. I was playing on a Sterling. He mentioned that he liked the thinner necks. I showed him the Sterling HS I was playing and suggested he might like one of these with its thin neck. He responded, I'm getting ready to try one. It was a Sterling by Music Man, not a Sterling. I mentioned that they were two different basses but he thought they were one and the same, just different colors. It didn't help that the Sterling HS I was playing had dead strings and a filthy neck.
It's just my opinion, but I think having a "Sterling" budget series and a Sterling create confusion. I know everyone in this forum knows the differences, but we are the diehards.
Just some feedback from a loyal owner.
