Iunderstand Dwell's side and BP's. I'd consider one if only to butcher/practice repairs etc..

BP All your points are right on.

Except - OLP sucked. Sorry to have to say that.

very correct OLP sucked, I think in my opinion thats why BP went another route here better product, better hardware and lets face it he did not want to but his name is on these, you think he is going to let these suck wind???

me thinks not, I am looking forward to getting one, and to be honest I am going to mod it but I wont for awhile just enjoy a cool guitar at a cool price:)

OLP was decent for the price point IMO. Remember that OLPs cost less than half of even what these Sterings are going for.

I'm basing this solely on my OLP though (never having played any others) so maybe I just got lucky. All I know is mine plays okay and has no fret problems, even after being left in a car for an entire New Hampshire winter.

Compared to my real silo special of course it's worse, but compared to a Squire or something else in the same price point, I'd take the OLP any day.

OK lets everyone backup and stop the hijack of Petes thread, this is not an OLP bashing thread or Sterling by music man bashing thread, its an announcement that Pete has Sterling by Musicman in stock and ready to sell, give this a chance and well buy from DuBaldo\Bellers:D

Indeed, back on topic!

I'd love to order up that RAY35, but I do want to play one first, probably will order mine from Pete once I get my hands on one in person though. Man I've wanted a 5 string MM bass for so long, but couldn't justify the price for an instrument that I only dabble in. Sterling is the perfect solution! Look how well that worked out.

Bingo, just what I said and think, Sterling is the perfect solution:)

Now need Pete to tell me when to expect a Silo20:D

Jim I read you deleted thread and Im glad you did. Maybe you should take a break for awhile The hostility you are showing and your 'dig your heels with wrong information'
You can say they suck. Whats the point? (other than its a hijack of Pete's thread.) THat and that JP6 thread. Is everything ok with you? You are not the same Jamminjim that Ive gotten to know. This is guitars not car crashes or swine flu easy baby

I never sold anything to anyone as you allege. I signed a licensing agreement with a third party that I trusted. They moved from factory to factory and some were fantastic for the money especially the first year or so) After that it was not to my standards and we discontinued it. THe problem is that sourcing is a science...todays factory is tomorrows bummer. With Sterling I signed with a company that owns and controls the best factory.

Dwells Thanks for your passion but Im not making cd's and you maybe shouldnt make guitars! I cannot grow without the additional capital and new players an entry level brings a company. But more importantly you made your point....I took the time to answer you and then you argue....then you are provided with a link with all of this crap on it and the hijack continues.

Lets allow people who cannot afford our stuff an opportunity to own something close instead of buying a copy that someone else makes because I dont.

Peace out

JD, swing up to Beller's on Thursday afternoon, these are going fast - 2 more Silo20s and the last trans orange AX20 went out today! The only AX40 left is the trans gold one pictured on the site. I still have a few JP50s left, along with a handful of basses.

BP, that is the whole point, isn't it? Job well done!

Indeed, I can't wait to see how the public responds to these! Total gateway application here. It's like Scion/Toyota.

Scion (who is manufactured by Toyota) produces vehicles in a lower price range with an appeal to the younger crowd so that they can familiarize themselves with the quality (despite the cheaper cost) and learn to grow comfortable and appreciate it. So down the road when they have the means to purchase a more upscale car, the first thing they'll think is, "I should get a Toyota, Scion did me well!"

I love this concept of SBMM, way to go BP I am a big fan of this.

(P.S. did Poppa really type, "Peace Out"." :D
