These guitars are really intriguing. My kids want to start playing (oh noes! less money for MY guitars!) and those Silo20 guitars are right in the price range...

Bought a Silo20, right price and I played a MM Silo at the dallas Guitar Festival a few weeks back, had been awhile since I tried one and relly liked it, this allows me to get something similar at a price I can handle right now and plan ahead for my next EBMM:p;)

Uh oh...... What if the kids get G.A.S. ?

Then I just say "NO" :D They're 6 and 7 years old. They'd be happy with a cheap plastic thing resembling a guitar...so a Sterling is perfect to teach them how to play on a comfortable instrument. And it's also good to teach them how to take care of their instrument.

Yeah a Sterling would be an awesome intro to owning a guitar or bass.

So is touching your Bogner and G-System a BIG "no-no" for the kids in the house?

Why not just send em to a teacher?

Ok, Hijack over!

Gotta get 'em a Sterling first. :D And I plan on sending them to a teacher. There are a couple good ones in the area.

Hijack is really over now...

They're going to be pretty small to handle a full scale guitar. You might want to consider one of the 3/4 scale guitars that are out there. We started my son when he was 7 and got him a LXM martin. He's 8 1/2 now and I'm about to get him a used semi-hollow 24 3/4 scale guitar. He's played enough that he CAN play a full scale, but it's clearly more comfortable with just the 3/4 inch shorter scale.

Pay attention to the weight too. We can handle heavier guitars, but smaller kids can't stand with a strap for very long with them. My son went from my Axis copy back to his martin for school shows because of the weight.

You make a valid point...they do have smaller hands than us. And they can't hold as much weight... Maybe I'll buy one for myself to see if they can handle it :D
