do a search on the forum and you should find some more info on what MM gear he uses. I'll try and find the time to watch the DVD and will let you know.Densven said:Hi there, can anyone tell me the type of guitar and Amps Steuart Smith ( EAGLES) is playing during Peacefull Easy feeling and New Kid in town.
It seems that nobody knows.
Thanks very much

Stephan, any relation to Steve Barr here on the list?StephanBarr said:I saw him recently with Shawn Colvin and he was using a 60's Start (maybe a '67) with EMG pickups. He had a Music Man in a stand but never used it. Had a couple of Fender Super Reverbs and maybe a Fender 2x12 closed back cabinet (Bassman, BandMaster). I saw him with the Eagles and pretty sure I saw a Peavey Classic 50 2x12 or 4x10.
Cheers.
I realize this post is a little late (HA!) but I just watched the DVD again yesterday for the first time in ages and I have the following info to offer:
On "New Kid", SS is playing a '66 strat with EMGs. Normally he tunes this guitar to open C, but obviously not in this case. His main amp is a Peavey Classic 50 that is likely a 4x10" or 1x15". You'll also see an 18 watt Marshall 1974 (model, not year) 1x12" combo behind him, but that is actually Walsh's. As someone else mentioned, he has a slew of EBMMs, including several Axis Super Sports, dual HB-equipped Silhouette, and custom double-neck Silhouette.
No info on what if any pedals he uses, but it looks like Frey and Walsh use Boss pedals exclusively (blech!).
The main ingredient of SS's playing is the 10 vintage Steuart Smith fingers that he uses, with two vintage Steuart Smith ears on the front end.
