From the MF interview...

"Back then there wasn't like there is today...there's a fetus that plays like Stevie Ray Vaughan."

"I won’t name any names because that always gets me into trouble but I watch what is supposed to be the new Beatles and it sounds like two cats ****ing."

"The biggest ****ing toilet company in the world is Toto. They make the greatest toilets in the world. You sit down on the toilet and you don’t even need paper. It reams out your bunghole."

This quote sums up Luke to me, a true musician in every way. Apart from the incredible talent and the humble and genuine down to earth personality the guy loves to play which is what it is all about.

"I just want to go out and turn on the amps and ****ing play."

Lots of love to ya Lucious!

Great thread, funny stuff, Earthy chit.

I have to agree with Luke on this one: "tangerine jumpsuit, that's how I want to be remembered." hahaha!!

Playing in bands during part of the disco era I nearly fell on the floor when I heard Luke say that in an old interview, as I can really relate to that statement. It's a horrible visual actually. lol

I remember seeing Luke being interviewed by Skunk Baxter. Skunk asked Luke "what would you be doing if you weren't playing music"?

without losing a beat Luke looks right at the camera and says "you want fries with that?"

Wow. Luke sounds like the Tucker Max of rock music.

He should have a line of products with WWLD? (what would Luke do?) on them.

**For those unfamiliar with Tucker Max, go rent the movie, "I Hope They Serve Beer In Hell", or go to his website and read his stories.

I am glad someone dug this up as this was just a great read between Lukes one liners, Sterling cracking me up and showing a bit of his raunchy side and that great clip with Friedman and Luke which was ripping. I do not listen to Megadeath so I do not know where Luke was on putting that solo close to the original though his playing was the usual inhuman, but damn Friedman played the solo to Hold The Line spot on perfect, which is one of my favorite solos of all time.He also has a unique way of picking going on their.

Favorite Luke one-liners?

"Ooki chinpo-san!"

See here: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h-zRB4EEEjI]YouTube - Steve Lukather - Ooki Chinpo San[/ame]

Funny story. Luke was in Japan earlier this year and I posted a link to that vid on his facebook and asked "Steve, did you bust out any Ooki chinpo-san when you were in Japan recently?". He wrote back "LOL not this time! hahaha"

Needless to say, I printed his email and framed it. It is now hanging on the wall in my office area at home!

Off-Topic: Get the book and avoid the movie.

Luke sounds like a pretty cool guy! :D This thread is a classic.
