Hey now,
I recently acquired a Stingray 4 HS. The bass functions fine in all others settings. When the bass is switched into "single coil" J bass mode (2nd click r to l) the output/volume completely drops. I understand there will be some slight dropout going into single coil mode. This dropout is as if the bass has a dead battery. If I crank my amp to 8 out of 10 (the speakers would blow in other settings) I can get a nominal bass tone.
I tried another HS at the local store and while the output did drop slightly it was still functional. Mine has no function to it. No real tone for that matter.
I'm being told by the seller that this is typical. Is this typical??
