Hey all,
I have a beautiful Stingray5 Special HH, I especially love its playability to bits. I also did this mod to get a really cool P-bass-like tone from it. The thing is, of course, there's no hum cancelling that way. So I wanted to switch the pickups to quad-coils, so I could use "individual" coils and combinations. I went ahead and bought a set of Delano MC 5 FE/M2's and their SONAR 3 MS electronics, only to find upon arrival that the pickups won't fit the route at all.

This sent me down a rabbit hole of looking for alternatives. I measured the Stingray5 Special's a very even 100mm x 50mm, while it seems that these Delanos and just about every other MM-style pickups out there is 105mm x 48.5mm. Is there really no such thing as aftermarket pickups that'll fit Stingray Specials? There also seems to be no mention on the internet that EBMM changed the pickup dimensions.

Are they Music Man "replacement" or Music Man "style"? All of Aguilar's 5 string "Musicman Style" pickups will not fit in Music Man 5 basses, which they explicitly mention.

I have two stingray 5s, one from 2007, one from 2012. Both measure about 98mm x 49mm, not counting the "ears". Not sure why anyone would want to change the stock pickups in any Music Man bass. They are specifically and meticulously designed to go with their preamps, just like with Aguilar, Bartolini, Delano, etc. Those are designed to work with their own preamps.
