It'd be a lot easier for the guys at EBMM to give me a nice, accurate measurement so I don't have to haul my Bongo to a machine shop with machinists staring at me while I remove and replace my string tree until I get it right. Dig?

That's a run-on sentence, isn't it? Drat.

I'm going to assume most of my Bongos have the old string retainer.

No problem, as nearly as I can tell.

the if it ain't broke, don't fix it until it is,

Know what, Jack? I now realized from reading your post that I don't need to screw around with my string tree. It plays and sounds perfect. To hell with machining it.

That's what I'm saying.

I mean, I almost got up and took the other ones out of the cases to check the string retainers and then I said to myself, "What? Are you nuts?"

But if there were a problem, I'd call Jon and cry and beg and plead and so on, so no one should feel bad about doing that.

Hi Jon!
