Stupidity

Have you ever went to the toilet at a sleazy bar you’re playing and read on the wall “For a really good time full of the sickest sex acts known to man call…” and it’s YOUR home phone number?

I haven’t, but I know a bass player that has! Hate that!

Have you ever pulled your bass over your head to "unstrap" it from yourself, only to put the headstock right through a ceiling fan?

Yes! The first day with my first bass (taco fen@#%), nice "character" mark on the headstock. Good lesson learned and haven't repeated the stupidity with the other basses... yet.

>>>Don't you hate it when it's 5 minutes before you have to leave for work and you can't find any socks?

And when you find them they're full of dead grass from when you mowed the lawn couple of months ago!

Yup. hate that, really hate that

Don't you hate it when the one time the Singer is actually paying attention to what the band is talking about the guitarist turns out to be right (for the first time ever)?

YES! Fortunately, it wasn't my SR5, but my Yamaha.

Have you ever knocked over a set of golf clubs on your bass? I hate that. (Again, fortunately, it wasn't my Ray!)

No, but I have a friend that's so short I almost took her head off once when I turned while playing my Ray. 'Course, I'm tall and wear my bass high-up anyways, so it might not be because she's that short.

Have you ever knocked over an upright bass that was resting vertically and have it land scroll-first on your desk...leaving a nice dent on the desk and the bass perfectly fine?

Ever cut a string then discover you had the wrong one on and now it's too short?

Nope. Never. Never, never, never. That was mine evil twin done that, or was it it his brother, the evil triplet?

Luv that. Really luv that :D

My bro turned to tell me a mode change or some other nearly useless data, and popped me right in the nose-bridge of my glasses, tore the skin so there was blood on the strings dripping from my nose.

Eggzacklee.... and then I switched to a Steinberger for about 3 months solid.

Yikes!

You realise my last post was tongue-in-cheek :)

Ever try to mod a guitar strap in order to fit straplocks into the leather ends, and while struggling with the strap and the knife, the knife suddenly slices straight through the leather and into your finger, scraping against the bone?

Ever foolishly run your finger under the tap and then nearly faint at the amount of blood running down the plughole?

Hate that.

I also hate :

- making my glasses fall when I unstrap my bass (paying attention not to put the headstock in the ceilling fan...) ;
- buy a new jack cable that gets distroyed the first time you use it, by a (choose the one you prefer) guitarist/drummer/keyboardist/singer/hornplayer...not paying attention where he puts his feet (precisely where the cable is looped, so the next step will be fatal).

Grunt !

Ever open up the control cover on some two-knob "passive" P-type that you've been playing for 5 years, like to look for a bad ground, and find that there's a pre-amp and rotting 9v battery in there?

This was really just as I tell it. He wanted to make sure an outro went smoothly, but y'know, "best laid plans of moose and squirrel.......". The outro went not so smoothly. His girlfriend saw it happen and tells me she's always ducking his headstock. He's a 'girth-some' fellow, and plays a wide, deep-bodied jazz box, so it just moves with his body whichever way he suddenly turns.
