SUB1 Tribute Thread

I'm not sure if someone already did this thing but I think the SUB1 deserves such recognition! It's a great Musicman guitar with a fraction of a value for God's sake!

To start it up here's mine:

Modified with Stan Hinesley Viper custom and Graphtech String Saver saddles.

Heres my Red one as it came from the factory, next time i display a pic will be after the mods.

I had the honour of trying one recently in a store. The price agreed with me. The tone agreed with me. The feel did not. Somehow, I couldn't gel with it.

Perhaps it was the strings (I use 10s). Perhaps it was the laquered neck. Perhaps it was the lack of a forearm contour.

But most of all, it was definately because there was a nice blue pearl HSS Silo Spec there which I was comparing it against.

No contest.

Though I didn't go home with it. I want a Graphite Pearl or an Egyptian Smoke. Heh...

What is the red thing on the pickguard by the tone control? Is it a push switch?

I will admit the SUB1 doesn't get a lot of playing time as I much prefer the Silos. However, I bring it to my gigs in case of string breakage. That happened to me a little while ago and the SUB1 played just fine.

The seller said the killswitch doesn't work very well. I'm planning on removing it and possibly getting a new cool pickguard.

The naked neck should be interesting... I may have it refisnished.... I may not.
