Ordered my Ray last week and Jack said about 8 weeks wait. What's this April talk? You guys are making me nervous.

Not to speak for Jack, but the time estimates may depend on what bass and configurations/finishes are ordered.

Jack said, "Eight to ten weeks."

If I didn't, it's what I meant to say, because that's what I ALWAYS say.

Well, sometimes I say other things, but I mean in response to particular stimulus.

Hi, my name is Tony, and I'm a Balloholic. I was doing ok until I got a Stingray last fall. Now I'm stealing my kids lunch money to give to some dude and his cowboy sidekick for a 5 string Bongo. I shake a lot these days and I'm not sure what to do. Do your kids have lunch money?

Again, this is why I say (in the meantime) don't walk into your local well-stocked music shop...bored and with disposable income!

Not that I regret having done that recently.

Yeah...I'm no help here, either.

Gracious, that was no joke. I really NEEDED that cup of coffee.

Yeah, it was a long night preceding the Open House, wasn't it?

Last time I go to the neighborhood market to score coffee and a Rockstar...two strikes there!

Hello, my name is Jack and I'm as bad as any of you.

allballs2.jpg

Left to right:

1. Heinz, the Wonder Bass, baby poo yeller Stingray 5. Back in 1999, the wait on SR5s was atrocious. Six months, seven months, no one knew. I was lucky. Heinz was ordered from New York and only took three months to arrive.

2. The Biff Bongo, AKA the Logan Flame Bongo. Well, I didn't know I'd ordered it, so I have no idea how long it took to make it. A while, I would guess!

3. Blue Pearl Bongo 5 HS. Ordered 4 October 2005. Not too bad - arrived late November, I believe.

4. Rolls Burgundy single H Bongo 5. Got this in a trade from Oldtoe, so that was easy. Soon to belong to TKarter!

5. Black Sapphire Bongo 5 HH. Began to annoy Garth at BC in the spring of 2003. He had no idea why I would want such a thing, but agreed to order it when he could. Spring turned to summer, summer turned to fall, the Bongo finally arrived in November 2003. Beat THAT.

6. Desert Gold Bongo 4 HH. Picked it up used from a guy who said, "I don't know, I think I'm really just a P bass guy." Okey dokey!

I have the sickness, although I've tried to convince Tkarter that it's really more of a 'lifestyle'.

Tom has needed a Bongo for a while. Not that his Stingray 5 love isn't true and deep, mind you, but he needs some variety!

Hi my name is Chris. I don't have anything on order as I am saving for a holiday to Mexico and the US in 2007. This has left me very depressed. Maybe I will pick something up on my holiday.....

Hi All,

I'm Rob, and I ordered a Blue Pearl HH Sterling in September, a little after Arin ordered his. I still don't have an eta on mine, but maybe it's similar to Arin's late Feb. (Jack?!?)

Based on what I've been reading in the recent past, I had my doubts about the Jan.18 ship date being met on my HH SR4, so no big deal. It just prepared me for when the Dealer revised it to some time in March.

I'm not hostile, just interested. (I work in a MFG facility, so production scheduling & all the variables that effect lead times interest me.) Has there been speculation on why 2 months have been added to (what I think is) a 3 month normal production time? (I lurk almost daily, but don't get into every thread, so maybe this has been discussed.) Or is this top secret information?

Rob/Arin:

I've got an email to an industry insider (heh heh) to see if we can get an approximate delivery date on those HH Sterlings.

NAMM might get in the way, but we'll see.

I've been watching the UPS Tracking page for the arrival of my SR5 like an 8yr old watching the weatherman track Santa Claus on Christmas Eve! The due date (from now on I may refer to dates as ASR5 instead of AD) is this Friday; 01/20/00 ASR5...yes, that does seem right.

Anyway, the good news is that I was able to sell my old Ibanez sr405 and an old Fender Strat and Fender amp in two days, so much of the new bass cost has been made up. So it looks like I won't have to deal with gaining a bass and losing a wife in the same week! Yeah for me! Looks like purchasing a EB not only brings you a new sound, but good karma as well.

We have our first baby due this April...a little anxious about what that change may due to her support in my occasionally nighttime gig...
