You know its actually more versitle than I originally thought it would be,
the neck p-up can conjure up a fat stratish sound w/ the volume knob
rolled back a bit, or a really woody fat 335-like tone. as far the bridge
p-up you can get it to quack like a tele without the unwanted blistering
sparkly treble, or just add some dist/ O drive and its KILLER!!
I play w/ a New Orleans Blues/Funk band a few times a week, I played
slide 75% of the gig last night and it was the perfect guitar for the job!!

One of the coolest things (to me anyway) is that the new
p-ups are wired to a factory quick connect so I can go back
to stock if I need to.

The quick connect is a dream to have. Like Dfrady said it looks so different (but also cool) and I'm not used to it, especially when I'm looking to get a SSS Al. The work turned out real good though.

Thanks! I photoshop'd a pic of the original before I started
ordering parts, I have to agree It just looks funny at first

Kid it looks good, you prefer the toggle switch over the slider?

What humbuckers did you use?

feedback:
The whole job will look better with a new pick guard - but you knew that anyway.
Cut it nice and snug and "black out" the routing so it doesn't wink back at you.

I hate the knobs - but it's whatever you want after all.

If I did a mod like this I'd place the toggle switch "a la Les Paul".

Tell ya what though - I'd love to do a mod like this - 3 humbuckers ??

Good on ya!! (thumbs up)

PS Just got back from Scotland seems like nothing was stolen from my garage ( from a post I made on the dark side (Bass Forum) about BP's theft)and no damage done to the car !!

Been away for a month working - now going out for a belated Birthday "nosh up" with Mrs Murph and kiddy winks (one's 22 and t'other is 16 and way bigger than me !!)
I've already had a few dark rums so I'm feelinh kinda good already Hee hee !!:D

I like it! If I it were me I'd consider adding a middle single-coil pickup a la silhouette et al, but it's not me, it's you. :)

Nice work! Any sound clips of that monster in action?:D

And, did you change the volume and tone pots to accomodate the humbuckers or stay with the originals?

cheers

That's a great job! Very nice. Maybe another PG... But it looks cool like this, the DIY way! I'd love to hear how it sounds.

It seems that the bridge pickup isn't spaced the same as the strings. Is it an optical illusion?
Nah, he just didn't get an F-spaced bridge PU. Whilst it looks a bit off, you can only barely notice the difference in a real playing situation.

Cheers

I have to say that I never even thought about the whole
f-spaced option, but I'll look into it. I play through a Mesa Nomad 45,
my local music store got in the new Mesa Express 5:20 so
I went to check it out, and show off the Albert, they loved it!!
