The Easy-Going Laid-Back Bongo

............Anyway, if I have a point, it is that I am usually praising the Bongo in a band context, and often comment on what an angry beast it is, but I am now convinced that I could play jazz lounge gigs with the thing and be happy happy happy. ............Jack

That's what I've been doing with mine. No drummer. One evening there was the infamous "oozing subbass attacks hear aid" incident, which required a substitution [plastic steinberger] b/c no amount of knob twiddling would plug the oozing Bongo. Other than that little surprise, I thought I'd done a fine job of taming the Bongo for dining room duty. From that experience, I guess that for some lounge lizard gigs, in small rooms where things may begin to buzz like snares due to oozing subbass, that having a shelving EQ, or high-pass filter, or other means to plug [or even just limit] THE OOZ could be a necessary tool. I'll admit that one thing I forgot to try that particular night was just decoupling the cab from the hardwood floor, a trick that saved the day once before when some [pre-Bongo] rig was rattling the room despite very minimal audible volume.

Hey, if you want this Bongo Loaner program to get underway - email me a shipping address. No hurry, I'm hard pressed to get to UPS during the week but I can try.

2. I'm A Believer (kids think it's from Shrek)

So do most adults. I always get a kick out of the confusion on people's faces when I introduce that one with "Now we're gonna do a Neil Diamond tune".

Nary a problem here, man, just wondering what happened to you. Like I said earlier, it's really hard for me to get to UPS/Fedex during the week anyway, but you never know.

Yup, here too. I would have kept the one I just had if it hadn't been so heavy.

Stingrays are just too sexy.

But in order to prove my sickness, I also just ordered another Bongo 5 for myself.

I must be stopped! Help me! It's intervention time!

the nah, I like it this way,

Jack
