For that you'll need a head with a tube preamp (and the right tube) or one of the classic preamps: Alembic FX-1 or Demeter VTBP-201/s
I'll have to suggest the Demeter HBP-1 over the 201s, it has a much more versatile EQ.

He did ask for "uncolored", so the simpler EQ of the 210s might be more up his alley?
I dont consider more advanced eq to have anything to do with whether it is colored or not. Different interpretations perhaps. :)

Getting Yer Piezo Wet

By the sound of your question, you're headed down the precarious piezo hill into uncharted territory;
imo, stay away from perfect amps unless you're fully prepared to match it with a perfect speaker; even then, there ain't no tellin' what can happen when you get closer to the bottom ...

Maybe you want to consider trading that SR4/piezo baby in on something a bit more weenie before you're in deep trouble ...

If you insist on following this thing through into the darker corners of MM/piezoland, make sure you have a really good witchdoctor, and keep an eye out for any gadgets that plug into your present amp's NCI (Note Correction Interface) socket; and if you're in the UK, beware of 120 volt versions.
:D

Once was over in Alberta where I saw someone use a Peavey; they got hills there too, but more up in the air than down in the deep.
They use country music there too. kdlang left there because she don't eat cows no more.
Dunno if they got piezos there or not; reckon though they got some sort of vegtables.
Anyways, I ain't planning on going there to find out.

Lisa, when reading forum posts made by Australians, it pays to ensure you have your sarcasm radar switched on :D

I thought maybe you Aussies were nuts.

Lisa, there is a REASON we threw a load of people out of the UK to Australia many years ago ;)

It was what was best at the time. ;)

Pzo I like cows and kdlang but not Peavey.

Ashdown. The solid state Ampeg heads sound harsh and unnatural to me. Although if you can spring for an Ampeg all tube head, different story.

SVTs sound great but are just too heavy unless you have some one else to carry it for you.:D

SVT head 85 lbs. vs. Little Mark II head 7.5lbs.

But its great to see all those 6550 tubes glowing in the back.

Rod Trussbroken, it is curious to hear someone from Australia praise Peavey. I think of Peavey as a hillbilly amp. They seemed big down south (especially in the 80's) but not as south as you my friend.

A perfect example.... in June I went to a country wedding. It was deep in the hills of Virginia. The MC used a Peavey guitar amp for his microphone and the music selection was all country music. He had a big beard and an even bigger belt buckel that read "Red Man"..... as in Red Man chewing tobacco.

I have always seen Peavey that way and probably always will, but I know that they make some high quality gear.

In case you didn't know Lisa. I am a hillbilly. :)
