The Peavey "bashing" is quite relevant for me this week, as I went to my first rehearsal with a new band at a rehearsal space I've never been to before. I walked into the room and saw a Peavey amp and 4x10 sitting in the corner and automatically thought to myself "oh great, this is gonna sound REAL good". But I have to say, I was actually blown away by how good it sounded! Might have been the style of music this band plays (kinda "indie/rock") but that amp sounded great. I don't recall the model, but I have to say I wouldn't have been unhappy owning this one.
Not that I'm knocking my Markbass/Eden set-up (I've yet to use it outside of my house, so haven't tested it to its full potential), I was just so surprised at how good the Peavey sounded. I guess I learned I should probably hold my judgment about bass equipment until after I've actually heard/used it.
Then again, the brilliant sound could have also been due to my bass. First time I've rehearsed with the Sterling (the SR4 is kept downtuned for my other band, so couldn't use it here) and she sounded brilliant! Either way I was a "happy camper" on wednesday night (probably haven't heard THAT saying in a while)!
