NGD:

Well, a couple of knuckleheads know about the secret I've kept for about 5 weeks. I made a purchase on eBay for a really great deal. It's my Holy Grail of guitars. I watched this guitar for about 24 hours and was sure I'd lose it to another forumite, or even worse, some schmuck who isn't on the forum. It is a beautiful purple EVH that was slightly damaged in an earthquake in 1994. Before I pulled the trigger, I scurried to find out if anyone was capable of restoring her to her natural state. The damage was only on the maple top, near the bridge. Fellow forumite Richard(Islandboy), directed me to Pat Wilkins Custom Guitars in Van Nuys,Ca. He said that he could repair it to its original state without flaw. He has done that. Here's the before, during and after pics. Should be in my hands next week.

Damage near bridge:
Body refinish before polish:
And the near final product, it needs to be re-strung & shipped. I should have it in a week or so:

Thanks Bryan.I'm definitely a quilt guy, but this flame is not super tight and thin. Sort of a quilty flame. I will take more pics when it is in my hands. I have to sell 3 to justify this. Can't wait.

Nice. Nothing like a purple EBMM EVH! Was the EBMM that started it all for me! Congrats Kevin!

It looks great! However the neck angle seems a little odd to me - maybe someone put an extra shim in the neck pocket, so the floyd could be floating? The neck angle is definitely bigger than on my Axis, and it looks like the Floyd has been raised, but is slanted backwards, so it stills touches the top of the body.

He's got the Floyd blocked because there are no strings on it. That's why the angle looks odd. I'll ask about the shim, though. Thanks.
