Yup, and this will be the obligatory strap to come with the stallion (You surely do know that "the italian stallion" was Stalones first movie- it was a porn flick):

I use that same DiMarzio Pimp strap on all my ebmms.

Stallion = horse, Petrucci = power..

Could this be a JP Mr. Horsepower model? Shifter, 8-ball, picking speed meter...? ;)

I´m looking forward to read more of this...I want another MM (these babes are highly addictive) and this may be an amazing option...only if timing is right (!)

can't wait. apart from the shape is there any chance you can hint at spec differences? new wood type perhaps? totally understand if you can't. can't wait to see what the jpx12 is as well. the X line has been the most interesting for me

it'll be interesting to see if the stallion is closer in resemblance to the current JP line, or the Ibanez Petrucci RGs.... so curious!!!

The EB JPs have never looked like the Ibanez JPs. BP said this is a radical shape. What that tells me is that it won't like like anything they have done before including another take on what some people call the super strat style body.

I know this isn't the case, but I think it would be awesome if one day John played an 8-string Music Man, that would be killer. I realize he probably has no need/desire for one (and doesn't need it in Dream Theater so far), however I still think something like the JPXI would look and sound absolutely amazing with 8 strings on it.

I once read an interview with JP where he stated that he feels most comfortable on a 6 string guitar, and that he prefers it to 7 stringers, explaining why he downtunes a 6 string a lot. So I can't imagine him being interested in an 8 string; that just isn't his side of experimentation.

I already warned my girlfriend that I would sell my mystic dream for a stallion, if it's great.
Gonna be expensive XD
Huge pickups, huge frets, huge sustain and resonance, piezo etc...I can't wait to see what it is !
