So there's a ridiculous thread on that other forum about beating a dead horse and the Sterling by Music Man branding and everything else that makes your head want to explode. That being said, I'm glad I took the time to read, because I just scored a freak'n sweet deal on a brand new Medallion Gold Sterling 5(RW/Non Matching/Single H). I can't talk about the price but there's more sweet Sterling 5 deals out there if any of my fellow knuckleheads should peruse the GC/MF website.

I have been looking for a backup for my Ray 5, been curious about the Sterling 5 and I've always loved Medallion Gold. It should be a pretty rare combo as MG has now been discontinued.

I'll most certainly be back with pics when it arrives. :D

Texas Finally!
WOW that is a great deal wish they had some skinny string stuff like that, congrats on a great score.

Just an FYI I was at the central Dallas GC today and the had three SR, not sure wether they were 4 or 5, two were in the new true gold color and one was olive gold, these colors rule in person and the also had one of those limited basses, not sure what the color is called, maybe elctric blue, that has the gold hardware.

I love Talk Bass...would someone tell them that I think it is a stupid name too?

Yeah. I tried that. Quietly and without any fanfare or fanboi stuff, but the signal to noise ratio on that thread is not good at all.

On the other hand, aside from some severely rotating assh0les, a lot of people are looking forward to giving the SbMM instruments a go.

As am I!

BTW, you guys REALLY scored on those Sterling 5s. Graphite pearl with rosewood board? Well YEAH. I've yet to even play one! Color me jealous.

Indeed.
And soon everybody is all over those new basses and most will dig them.
It's always like that.

Thanks for the heads up, I ordered my Graphite Pearl Sterling5 HH (rosewood) the other day. I don't know how I am going to pay it off, but I remembered my favorite two words: Tax Return :D
