Nice score, Rob, real purty. Have to chuckle at your growing enthusiasm with the instrument. You'll find that the humbucker cuts through any mix without excessive volume; same for the single coils.

Have you checked to see how many springs are installed in the trem system? Sounds as though there may only be two or so, and depending on the set up, that may not be enough to pull the bridge down to lay flush with the body. I load mine up all the way with springs, since I don't use the trem, and do a fair amount of chord bends. Turning in the claw screws may also be required, but I'd first check the springs. Once you stabilize that bridge I think the tuning issues will disappear. Naturally, adjust saddles once the trem is laying flat.

Rock on with it, man! Great guitars, these Silo Specials.

Oh, here's your pin! :D

Digging the pin Candid ;)

(If only I still had a Silo Special ... I've been through a few ...)

Yeah, me too... :(

Although I have let it be known that I am currently on the hunt for either a burnt apple or autumn burst SS, HSS, natural headstock, trem and rosewood fretboard. I don't think I'm asking for too much! :D

Just biding my time waiting for one to show up...

I'd consider trading my autumn redburst (finished headstock though) for an AL with rosewood board. I don't think I'm asking for TOO much either. :D

Luckily my singer has his Black/Tort SSS which I get to play a lot.

Plus I have a bouncing new Sport MM90 to keep me warm at night :) But there's definitely room for some silo spec love in my future.

Thanks, guys.

Mercedes? Uh...I don't know. I give names to my guitars. Maybe, there's something about the gold color that made me think of Mercedes-Benz automobiles.

:D

BTW, how do you name the 20th and the pet ?

I have played the silo Spec few days ago after few weeks of non love due to Luke and AL fever. Was even thinking about getting rid of it but this guitar rules the Mapple SSS goes where the Rosewood MM90 cannot go

Those 2 a the ideal tool for clean music :D

You mean he lets you play the Silo you got for him? ;)
Hehe ... the guilt goes a long way. Btw, I just sold his strat and it pretty much covered the Silo bill. His words "Jay, I've never been happier with my guitar!". There's some Silo love for ya. :)

you just gotta love em all for what they can do, which is fine for me! I really love the ASS, AL and Silo- all of them do something the others cant, and i appreciate that, they play different too.

The JP6 is named Rebekah. There's no good reason behind that name. It was just a feeling.

The 20th Ann. Silo is Scarlett. That was partially also just because of a feeling. The beauty of the 20th and its deep voice made me think of Scarlett Johannson. I think she's beautiful, and she's got a deep, sexy voice. I know that the 20th Ann. Silo sings very well. I have no idea if Scarlett Johannson sings at all. :D

I agree that the Rosewood ASS can't go where the Silo Spec can. I haven't played one with MM90s, but the one with the humbuckers I have played. I like it a lot, but really, I just prefer the clarity, the high end, etc. of the maple necks I have.

Haha! Thanks! I just saw that pin. Glad to have one. Maybe, it belongs in my sig. :D

Actually, after I bought the guitar, there were no tuning problems apparent. Still none, even after I've adjusted the bridge height and angle. I have to work on the intonation, though, now that I've monkeyed with the neck relief and the bridge. It's not bad, but it's not right. :D That's a job for tomorrow.

Would love to get my mitts on some other models to try out, before laying down the cash. Especially the Luke and AL. Am skeptical of mail-order-brides, though I've lucked out the last two times. I've also gotten busted before.

I keep my guitar names impersonal: Blue and Sundown. I once gave a motorcycle a proper name, and it blew up while flying down the highway. Now I consider it bad luck.

I just found out that the 3 position is not the middle pickup. It's 2 & 4 in parallel. Well, all I know is, it's sweet! :D

There was one with a maple board out this way at the Guitar Shop!
