Luke had made mention of it in his shamely self promotion (kidding man)of his new solo CD/Record/Music Download. It's been a long time and everyone needs a change every now and then.

I am as big a Toto fan as any, and as much as It's a shame that they are no more, I don't feel too sad about it, They outlasted most of their peers, and stayed successful throughout the world all that time, which shows the depth of their talent. Their albums drove popular music forward, even though most didn't realise it, as their stuff inspired and focused the minds of countless other musicians and bands. Anyway, never say never to the possibility of a future "reunion" Hehe...

Good luck to Lucious with his no jazz tour :p

Toto will be missed!

I'm looking forward to putting on the Toto tribute concert at Berklee in the fall!

Man.. I can't believe I never got to see them live. :(

Even though l love this band and would love to see them tour forever, l can agree with what Luke said in his press release. But all l can say is, l've very much enjoyed their music throughout the years, all of which hold very dear memories to me, l had a great time at their concerts, l've made a lot of great friends through their music, (robelinda, david leeding and colin, and many many more).

And it was probably a good time to move on, they had a successful tour and they are still at the top of their game, and l'll be very interested to hear future releases from each band member.

Thank you Toto,

Scott.

Well can't say this really is a surprise but it's hard to believe I won't be able to see Toto perform live anymore. When I got to see Toto in Dusseldorf last year I didn't have a clue that it would be the last time.

Luke, thanks for the wonderful tunes Toto made, and I'm glad I got the chance to see you guys 4 times! See ya this summer!

PS I only wanted to hear Hold the Line for the solo, so my deepest respect for the fact you played the song for 31 YEARS:rolleyes:

Thanks guys

I appreciate the good vibes. I have gotten nothing but positive vibe aboput all this from not only you guys but my fellow band memnbers. I think we felt is was just time to move on. There are NO bad feeling at all and thats a nice way to leave it, On a high note with a succesful tour and record to show for it.
I am now on my own and I will be coming to a place near you. ALOT more USA stuff than Toto could ever do and obviously around the world as well.
Thanks for the support and I hope I see you guys somewhere out there soon
Off to rehearse

Quite frankly I've pretty much had enough of this Toto/Luke stuff. ;)
I just bought Lukes new CD, and Santa Mental, the Toto 25th anniversary in Amsterdam 2-disc set, and the Larry Carlton Steve Lukather Band's Paris concert DVD. I'm OD'ing on Toto, Lukather, and Carlton. LOL
Great stuff. What a way to go. :D

That's great.
Many of us have probably been involved in one or more of those ugly band break-ups at some time. It's wonderful that you guys can end things on a high.

Lukes had a sex change !!!
LOL After a bit of reading about Toto's history, I just now "got" that comment.

Luke....so far, you have one of the best musical careers anyone could ever ask for. Who better to know when it is time to move on other than yourself? You have been an inspiration to the millions of guitar wanna be's (like me) out there and you are so humble and cool.....

Just bring yourself to my area sometime so I can catch a show and maybe we can catch a beer or 3 afterwards! :D

All the best to you! Love and respect!

Luke,

Everyone has to know when it is right for something to end, it comes from the heart and well all good things must end.

Congrats on the past and more success with the future, please come to Dallas soon, we need some real music around here.

Take care and hope to see you soon.

Keith:)

...respect

Toto will live forever through the music. I completely understand and support Lukathers desicion. Nobody can argue the facts he presents in his announcement. I am listening to "Ever changing times" right now and it is Steve Lukather at his very best... "Tell me what you want from me" may just be one of the best tunes I've ever heard from him through the years... Let's face the fact that the quest of keeping the "brand" Toto alive as well as keeping the integrity may have made the only remaining original member falling in between for real...

Best wishes Steve and God bless you and your music :)

Personally I think they should have called it quits after their finest album... Michael Jacksons Thriller :D
