Hey everyone..... I've had several JP6 guitars and sold them because of lack of being able to so good harmonic's like Satch uses.....

but I just bought another one brand new for other reasons for a new gig this weekend... and now I remember why I sold them...lol...

do you guy's have trouble getting Satch style (lack of a better explanation) harmonic's

I have an ESP custom with Shur Doug Alrich pick ups and I get them easily

thanks for any tips'

Wouldn't harmonics only be related to primarily the strings, and the bridge? And to a very small degree the pickups?

?? Don't know..... I'm just at awe that as nice as this guitar is... it just can't do harmonic well (or I'm missing something)

I use D’Addario NYXL guitar strings

crap.... :( and no not old strings.... a set of string only last me about a week... and if I push it sometimes... I might, MIGHT get 2 weeks out of them

but just to make sure.... I can get Pinch harms, tapped and basic harmonics.... I'm talking about lets say I do an harmonic at the 5th fret on our G string.... no problem... does great... but once I grab the whammy bar... and try and either "dive it" or flutter it... it DIES completely and instantly

Welcome to the forum.

That's very strange. Since strings are only lasting you one week, you should try throwing on a set of Ernie Ball strings. I've used the Super Slinky for decades and they are the only strings I'll use. I play 80's hair metal, and I am getting harmonics all over the place. Yes, I've tried most other strings, but I always go back to the Super Slinkys for their tone and feel.

Do you sweat a lot when you play? One or two weeks is such a short period of time. Do you wipe off your strings after you play?

Sounds Strange to me. I've got the Regular JP6 and JP6 with Roasted Maple Neck and Mahagony Body, and I get Harmonics all over the Neck, including Fluttering the Trem, Diving and Squealing.
I'm using 10-46 Cobalt Slinkys and 10-56 Regular Slinkys on the 7 String. No Problems at all.
Might Sound like advertising EB Strings, but I'd give em a try

Hi, a couple of questions...
I use an Axe Fx also
1-Do you have the Noise Gate on the Axe set too High?
2-The Aldrich Pick-Ups are High Output... The JP6 aren't as Powerful... Maybe try turning up the Input Drive on the Axe FX
3-Check the Battery in the JP
