After thinking about it some more, I like "Sterling Super Sport" the best.

I guess it really depends on which body style they go with, but it seems appropriate for several reasons: the first version was on a Sterling body, Super Sport guitars are already offered in the catalog, the name has the three "S's", and don't forget about the car that Sterling lost to fire: http://www.ernieball.com/forums/mus...chevy-super-sport-burns-ground-pix-added.html
Still broken hearted over that one. BP, did you ever get a replacement?

I can't wait as I have been craving a single coil bass lately and this should be a better option than the other more "traditional" options out there

Woo hoo, I'll check it out. This will be my first NAMM show.

Oh and for what it is worth, the AL body shape looks really cool as a bass guitar. I know that is just a prototype, but looks really good to me none the less.

(U) On or around 3 November, highly-placed and A-value intelligence sources deep inside the San Luis Obispo instrument complex possibly revealed actionable tactical information regarding certain highly anticipated design plans. Technical information regarding the identity of the source (see TechData report 103-08) will confirm the probability of information being accurate.

(U) While certain details of the design plan reportedly remain open to modification over the next 60 (sixty) day period, experienced analysts at Camp Bovine report that the basic design is in place and unlikely to undergo radical physical change.

(U) Image Analysts have rudimentary information. Unfortunately, recipients of this report are not cleared to proper levels and the images must remain classified TOP SECRET - BIG POPPA ONLY (TS-BPO) until further notification and/or the NAMM gathering, currently scheduled for JAN09.

(U) Our team will continue to issue timely reporting on this event in order to further torture the insurgent group now known as "Knuckleheads", but we do not expect to be able to reveal any significant information prior to the JAN09 date mentioned above.

(U) You are encouraged to submit all questions and comments via the usual channels.

If the number of strings (or lack there of in this case) is the judge for manliness then let me put on a skirt and purtty up my hair. I'm looking forward to the 6 string version.

Even if the knuckelhead comments are not considered in the naming I still love reading these types of comments. My favorite peanut gallery.
(Notes to self)
Thing to consider in the naming:
25 x 3 = 75
25^3 = 15625
25^(1/3) = 2.9240177.....
SSS (Make list of EBMM related words that begin with "S")
Just name it what you called this thread.

Ok, here's a 'canuckelhead' comment...how about a grown up version of the Silhouette Bass, 6 strings, SSS pups, 34" scale, etc.

Imagine:

Anyways, thanks to BP for keeping it real, giving us a peek and coming up with some great instruments.

Sterling Super Sport is great.
The Special Edition can have little cow-pilot steer horns (for Jack, of course!) ala the Dargie martini glasses as fretmarkers...!

Heh heh. I figured at least Old Guy would dig the dirt outta that post.

Takes a sick mind to wade through that kind of crap, I guess!

Photoshop, threaten, cajole, plead and bribe (oh please, please, bribe me baby) but if I knew something, and I'm not saying I do, all I could say was, "I don't know any more than Arin does."

the off to rehearsal,

Jack

I think more image analysts need to be called in to crunch that actionable tactical data. Volunteer, here!
